Very good, and based on what you like, I think you'd really enjoy it.

i think the redepositing issue is a much bigger problem for cash games than in MTTs, where the huge money for the top spots deludes fish into continuing to give it a shot.
i dunno i always got the sense that in the old days, a lot of fish would do real well in an MTT or 2 and then come on over to the cash games to 'test their luck' aka donk it off. there can't've been that many people saying 'yeah let me just put this $2000 into a poker site' - the two economies are definitely related.

Of course, in the real world as opposed to my "all players are equal" thought exercise. However, given that there will always be winners, would a site make more money by eliminating rakeback and increasing rake (neither of which the fish care about) and letting the fish pay more and the pros who want to take money out of the economy pay substantially more. Would the price increase coupled with lower long-term acquisition costs more than offset the lost volume from the extra pro table hours, while providing a more long-term friendly fish environment. It's possible that it would.

Surprised dr ikes mentioned ankle weights, but not their adverse effects on training.

i always thought rakeback was stupid. just lower the rake. now the fish keep their money longer.

If online poker was legal, the sites would do whatever to cater to the fish. These people will constantly buy back in and the rake is largely irrelevant to them since most of these people don't even realize how it affects their roll. You could explain the impact of rake on low limit games to random donks (ie the vast majority of people who play poker casually) and it blows their mind.
