Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

While I appreciate MT2R's candidness, he brings on these sort of attacks because he always posts from the position of a moral authority.

RIP Jill Kinmont. Cover of SI at 18, paralyzed from the neck down in a ski crash, and subject of a great biography and two Hollywood movies that inspired me as a child.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

wow... I've made this thread AIDZ, too.

First, very funny jopke from tuq on fat Midwest girls.

Second, I posted 'true that' because it was a funny one-liner given the context. It made me laugh. Hoped it made others do the same.

Third, I regret ever sharing my story despite the number of positive interactions I've had with numerous people over PMs and IRL discussing it. I should have realized it would be thrown back in my face a ton. Most people here were not involved with mid/late 90s rave/drug scene. GHB was all over it in the midwest at the time. It was new. Hell, it was legal months before I started college. I did it because it gave the effects of alcohol without the nasty hangovers. Plus, it was cheap. I did it often - 4 times a week or so. Given I knew the guy manufacturing it who would sell by the gallon in milk jugs, it wasn't unusual for me to have a couple water bottles with it. OMG, I shared with my roommates. People will be shocked to find out that drug users often live with other drug users and they share and share alike. I did a ton of shrooms at the time, smoked pot, did acid, smoked opium, lived next door to coke and xtc dealers, etc.

I hate that rape is thrown around flippantly. Have you ever drank alcohol ikes? have you shared it with a girl? OMG, you rapist! GMAB. I never shared my GHB with any female. Was my dealer selling it to guys who might have done so? I strongly suspect yes. Not a guy I wanted to mess with, though. When push came to shove (ie, crazy prosecutor from another county wanted to put me in prison), I offered to give up everything. The prosecutors didn't care. Different county. Doesn't build their resume. I was busted hanging out over Spring Break with some friends from my hometown watching the state high school bball tournament. We would watch some games, get effed up on something, watch more games, get effed up on something, repeat. One of the guys in my group smoked pot with another group of guys in my hotel. They found out we had more stuff. They broke into our hotel room and stole some weed, alcohol, and one of my water bottles. Bad times. See, if I was actually sharing or selling to these guys, they would've known to not take 10 times what you're supposed to. However, guy ends up in hospital. Guy is son of an area cop. Bad news for me. Life isn't fair. So it goes.

But, I can see where a person would throw rape in my face. I hate it. But, have learned to live with it. It's nowhere near anything related to me. It makes me sick.

I understand my posting style is abrasive. I've questioned authority from a young age and often call BS on things accepted by many. I'm willing to stake out my own positions right or wrong. I'm used to this irritating people for a long time. I have a poster I hold near-and-dear to my heart. It's this:

Call out my arguments for being wrong. You wouldn't be the first. If I'm having an off day, you might even be right I have asked that rape not be used so loosely. It cheapens the word as it's so far off base for a 19yr old drug user with an experimentation problem. (Problem being the psych evaluator's opinion. I thought trying new things was a good thing.)

I realize I also moralize tons with sports, so some see my record as an inherent contradiction. I've stated many times I don't see the problem as I don't derive my morals from the laws. Yeah, I knowingly broke tons of laws using drugs hundreds of times. I don't regret any of it and don't think I did anything wrong.

Whatevs. I admit, I was ready to punch Greear in the face the first time I saw him for starting the MT2Rape stuff. Time has had that urge somewhat subside.

BTW, I didn't have nearly as much as some people think I had. The way the law is written, one gets charged for the weight of the water it was diluted into. By making it safer to use, I was actually increasing my prison time.

If you had taken a poll of 2p2ers that have met me irl, I would rank quite low as a person they'd expect to go to prison. Then again, if you talked to people I went to HS with and knew me, they'd say I was most likely to make a million dollars and most likely to go to jail. When one doesn't respect authority, they don't really respect traditional laws. They often break them. Anymore, though, it's only speeding. Well, jaywalking, too. Prison - my anti-drug.

I try to be an ethics warrior. However, it's for the ethics I find important, which does not fall in-line 100% with the law. I spend a rather large amount of my time fighting for fairness and what I believe is good. I've always been what most would describe as over-sensitive to issues of fairness and integrity. I realize it makes me come-off as an old-man, don't step on my lawn type of the forums. I haven't mastered the art of making it come off better via the written world. I spend most of my day giggling and having a laugh, but I can never get that across. I'm known as the silliest person in my circle and it's not due to my positions on B1G athletics, though my love for Johnny Johnson and Demetri McCamey is often the butt of jokes.

oops... guess I shouldn't post drunk (OMG, rapist!). This has turned into a wall of text. Whatevs, at this point, I've gotten somewhat used to the 'rape' being thrown around inappropriately. It still makes me cringe every time I see it. However, I think it reflects on those that use it greatly and not at all for me. Who gets so wound up in serious internetz businezz on sports FFS that they have to resort to using rape to discredit the guy who sees the events differently than them?

A number of 76er games and an Eagles game as well as the Lacrosse National Championships. I was at the Wachovia Center two other times though, to see a Coldplay concert and Kenny Chesney one. Coldplay was lol bad. And I have little interest in country music but Chesney wasn't that bad of a concert.

Reading Phillies and IronPig games I destroyed in college though.

From the sounds of it he was 19 years old and facing jailtime.

I give credit to those that are willing to put it all out there on the forum sometimes. Though its 'anonymous' it's still a difficult thing to do especially when it comes to very serious things in one's life.
