Sounds like an opportunity for a side hustle: Clark M. Eister, Esq, Global Notary Public, any U.S. document notarized for $29.95. We beat Embassy pricing like what's-her-name beat down Ronda Rousey.

since we're talking about movies, Manchester by the sea was excellent. But I'm very biased towards movies where nothing happens.

ya it seems like the actor/actress voting is based on
a. who needs a trophy to solidify their star status
b. who might give an interesting speech

best director is often who needs a lifetime achievement award or here's a trophy for the real best picture

Grand Budapest Hotel probably should have won two years ago but Birdman is a solid entertaining movie.

Having not seen any of the best picture nominees this year, I can simply say they don't look interesting at all. Seems like a bad year for movies.

GBH was super meh.

Birdman has been on my DVR for over a year, and every time I start it I decide to stop.

here's a real fat guy question for the fack:

Why are fries the preferred side with a burger, but chips are the preferred side with a couple of hot dogs?

Dunno why but hot dogs just never do it for me

At BBQs when given the option for a burger or hotdog I've gone burger 99% of the time. No amount of chips could sway me

Dances With Wolves is definitely better than the good but highly overrated Goodfellas

Why do people hate Argo? Didn't blow me away or anything but it was fine.

hamburgers and hot dogs at a BBQ are not an either/or equation if your plate is big enough or you aren't shy about going back for seconds. I tend to go paleo and skip the bun on at least one of them.

I go dog only 30% of the time, burger only 30% time and combo the other 40. I believe this to be the correct ratio and all others wrong

argo prob isn't so awful, but it was pretty bad. Hollywood s'ing its own D, no character besides affleck and maybe arkin and goodman had any depth whatsoever, weird hamfisted love story near the end, and absolutely zero intrigue regarding the escape. I consider Apollo 13 top of the class in terms of movies where going in you knew the ending. Argo did not capture the same spirit.

re: burgers and dogs,

at a cookout, 1 of each is usually the play, but tbh cookout burgers are often pretty mediocre and the hot dog reigns supreme. But I'm really just curious why when it comes to dogs, I not only prefer chips, but the ideas of getting fries with it isn't appetizing to me at all.

Also, slightly offtopic, but the best part of a clam boil are the hot dogs soaking in all that clam flavor.

Ive never even thought about fries with a dog but often interchange chips and fries with a burger. I've never really thought about it either given how infrequently I eat a hotdog. I guess it is a bit odd

Hot dogs and chips seem about 25% lazier than hamburger and fries. I'll eat them all for sure though.

Hot Dogs are much more an on-the-go item, hence the natural pairing with chips.

Burgers connote sitting down, even if in a car, fries work in that setting. This also holds true for the preparation/equipment needed, hot dogs are just lighter fare than burgers/fries.

I would assume tomato and lettuce also helps cleanse the pallet for the heavy greasy fries.
