The doc was nice enough to contact my therapist back home and hopefully together they can help me get back to semi normal. You guys can look it up, I'm not sure how I feel about the result of the visit. Looks like I have a lot of work to do.
On another note, I had somebody tell me that I shouldn't share with people because people won't know what to think. If I had a broken leg, nobody would mind if told them how it happened. People shouldn't be ashamed of suffering from anxiety and/or depression. Nobody chooses that. I think if people were more open, perhaps people could get the help they needed sooner.
In not a doctor, but that diagnosis looks they have no idea what it is.

The term functional (psychogenic) movement disorders (FMD) has historically been applied to disorders that manifest with physical symptoms—specifically abnormal movements (gait disorders, tremor, dystonia, etc.)—but which cannot be attributed to any of known underlying organic disorder and which instead is presumed to be due to “psychological factors”.
In the US medical system, there is no billing code for 'I don't know' so they have a bunch of catch all diagnoses that are essentially useless from a treatment perspective. This looks like one of them.
I'd be super skeptical of any doctor claiming the can definitely reverse the effects of something when they are giving such a vague diagnosis.
Best of luck though, mysterious medical stuff sucks.
