I have a serious fear of rodents. Living in DC was tough. They're so shifty and I'm always afraid they'll bite me. If one gets in my home, what are the odds something bad happens to me or my family? What about if it is a rat instead of a mouse?

Eddy; it's probably more than one mouse. It sounds like you don't want to kill it, which is fine.

These work great:
Humane-Mousetrap

It catches the mouse and then you take it wherever you want and release it--in fact, a cracker becomes a door in the release so he'll even have to eat his way out so you don't have to worry about him leaving hungry. Reload and repeat. It makes a pretty loud click when the mouse gets trapped, so you don't have to guess.

Have enemies? Give them mice.

I do think it is likely there is more than one mouse. I disagree that it's fine you don't want to kill it.

Was going to come brag about my $13+$7 Great Clips haircut but prices apparently went up to $15(+$5 IMO) I did get to hear some certified #HotSportsTakes like, "I never liked Steve Young very much."

Not sure if this is a hot take or a personal preference but I am anti cruise control if I used cruise control driving would be too boring I'd drift off and kill myself. Voluntaliry been on many long drives and rural places and not used cruise control when I could have. I'm sorry if this has been a negative community experience for the drivers in and around my vicinity at those times.

I rarely use cruise control either. Then again I can't remember the last time I had to drive really long hours through desolate, hillbilly hairhole country.
