Not to mention that if one of you actually starts dating someone there is the potential for jealousy from two parties.
tuq, that wasn't directed at you, you actually used the expression "best friend", others didn't

I don't want to tell people how to express themselves... I just ask they don't pick their forms of expression from ****ty beer commercials.

I don't really think this is true, although I also can't think of any good examples, for this reason: Most of, if not all of, my friendships with women at this age (and many of them qualify as not having an attraction element) are with ones who are or were in relationships with my friends, so I can't say for sure that I've become friends with a woman while we were both single, and there wasn't an attraction from at least one end.

lol. Ladder theory is fine when you're in college and don't understand that acting like an attractive girl's toady not only won't magically get her to **** you, but is also a ****ty way to act. In reality, ladder theory just very misogynistic and willfully ignorant of the way women communicate. I mean this

Quote:
The problem arises because a woman never lets a guy know which ladder he is on.
is completely laughable. The problem is, "Women don't reject men clearly and obviously because the kind of men who can't take hints or read nonverbal communication tend to be emotionally immature and unstable, which can be a dangerous situation for the women if she rejects him outright and he doesn't take it well."

Hmm, I was not aware of that. Going to give it a pass for now, provided future posts of Scherer's don't suggest an inclination to cribbing from light beer commercials.

No the expression is still dumb and should be mocked at any and all opportunities.

Also, I hope the father is like Ray Rice or Haloti Ngata or something. Though if it were Ngata she probably wouldn't have survived.

Having female friends is the absolute easiest way to get laid. Not having a few regular girls to hang out with is major fail for young single guys.

This. Whether or not it was used first in a mildly popular television show several years ago, it's in a ton of commercials now.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

Obv he is a woman hater. Even worse is that nobody is exhibiting fear towards women. He took "having a female as a best friend is a bad idea" and magically parlayed that into people being afraid if women.

phb isn't one to let logic get in the way of the submit button.

Trust me, a marriage doesn't mean you can't hate women.

To be fair, I don't think ky-leb's contempt of people is limited to women.
