Yup. Best friend watches all the Ravens game / other football games with me/my group of friends. She claims to be a Red Sox/ Celtics fan because she's from RI, but she doesn't watch any of those sports.

Moderately intelligent wrt football. Doesn't pretend to know more than she does, asks questions when unsure. Works out pretty well.

If it hasn't blown up in huge drama, the bond / amount of time spent with each other begins to naturally diminish from your mid twenties on anyway in my experience. You might be taking your time settling down, but their clocks begin ticking, and if it's not happening with you they'll be forced to take off elsewhere looking for it. You're still great friends, still have good conversation, etc - but you're not "best friends" with a woman who isn't your partner when you're 28 imo.

Reading comprehension fail. As has already been noted, having female friends is great; the more the better. Having a female best friend is a nightmare waiting to happen, unless maybe it's a questionably constructed John Hughes film. Even if it miraculously never turns sexual for one party or the other, there's still likely to be substantial differences in behavior and interests that don't jive with being proper BFFs.

Not to mention that if one of you actually starts dating someone there is the potential for jealousy from two parties.

one of my favorites. he's not dead or anything(I hope not) but I haven't seen him post in like a month. HE is prolly on some kind of leave. the mod staff will miss him as will some of the users around here. I am sad or a tad bit salty he didn't make a public post about his future disappearance.
