Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

Did I do something wrong, or has the default search changed from showing posts in descending posting date to showing posts in order of relevance, however that's calculated? Really annoying having to do every search twice since I always forget to change the sort order to 'last posting date' and it's all just random posts from 2009 and 2010.

even back when I had cable, not even close.

Their talking heads are just well paid trolls. If I want to be trolled wrt sports, I come here. At least then I know I'll get some good stuff too.

If I could mute their play by play people, I would do that too.

Plenty of other far more interesting shows on TV.

my sports quote these days is met by simply watching games. i don't watch SC, PTI, ATH, etc. haven't watched an NFL pregame in years. it's quite refreshing.

This, this, this so much. Comcast used to not have the backtracking, but added it maybe a couple years ago. It's awesome for regular shows, but it sucks so much for sports.

Just put your beers in a bowl full of ice water + salt. It's faster. And infinitely cheaper.

Melts the ice and lowers the freezing point, which in turn speeds up the chilling process.

Ice lowers the melting point of ice (as will any impurity). Ice melts as a result of its absorbing the energy (in this case, heat) from the items (in this case, beer) around it.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

lol how much salt are you guys adding to the water? It takes 29 grams of salt to change the temp 3.3F, which translates to about 7 teaspoons of salt. You're not making much of a difference.

Nah, you can just dump a handful of salt into the ocean and it'll melt the icecaps
