Ha.

So what annoys me about the Texans name is

1)It's incredibly generic and lame (and this extends to the generic and lame red, white, and blue color scheme)
2)It smacks of the idea that they are Texas' singular football team, which is laughably untrue-- they probably rank behind Odessa Permian, let alone UT and the Cowboys

They should've been the Wildcats. It's a nickname no other major sports team is using as far as I can tell, and it calls back to the oil history and the Oilers. Instead they chose a lame generic name that emphasizes they're a second-rate franchise.

I'd buy the Texans and rename them the Black Panthers.

Also, cost of living is a major reason I live here, so if I actually won the lottery, I wouldn't really "buy a local sports team" so much as "peace out before anyone realized I was gone."

I prefer "Muslim Gun Confiscators."

Buddy of mine had a good idea. Show up to work with a stack of envelopes. Offer them to people on the condition they quit along with you. But they don't know how much is in the envelope.

Hedge Fund/ VC Fund/ REIT

Not in that order. I've also come up in the small business world scrapping by with tiny budgets so I would run all of those companies on the mega cheap.

Texans being perceived as a second rate franchise would be a win for them afaict

I always wonder what happens to the small companies where the entire workforce chips in and splits tickets. I guess the pro rata jackpot typically breaks down to a number small enough that won't allow every single employee to quit but this jackpot will. Would be hilarious to see a Macy's or whatever just flat out close the next day because not a single person comes to work.

If I did get 1.5b from the lottery I think I would have an incredibly hard time not trolling some small cap company by buying up a majority of their shares.

My friend worked at a regional paper distributor and all the warehouse workers hit the lotto and quit. Some of the salesman tried to load the trucks with hilarious consequences while they hired new people.

I would buy the distribution rights to True Detective 3 and premiere it on crackle.com

I'd also fund a remake of the 1996 classic Sandra Bullock thriller "The Net"

Buying Chick Fil A should be more expensive than buying the Catholic Church

Since chick fil a does 5.1b in revenue I think they could safely avoid a hostile takeover from a lottery winner

you're not buying CFA for $1.5B much less the ~$500mm you would net post-tax.

They must have quadrupled in value?

That seems pretty crazy for a company their size

Or I'd open a fast food franchise that serves chicken only - all days of the week - and name it chicken fil a. It would be known for its excellent customer service, above average chicken and GOAT milkshakes.

I would serve chicken sandwiches without pickles as well.

Nah. Chik fil a has to be worth way over 1.5B

Edit...slow pony

They have definitely had massive growth, just ridiculous growth. Not sure if it's enough for 4x in 2 years, but couple could be off and of course you know there's many ways to value a company and who knows the specifics of the transaction or valuation sigley refers to

Not opening on sundays is really pretty insane.

That is a 15% increase in sales just waiting for you.

Yup. And I'm fairly certain they still do the most $$/location of any FF chain despite this. Pretty insane.
