Probably forgot to specify that it was the "New York football Giants." The distinction exists for a reason.

All-in McLovin getting to where Bobbo used to be with the post reporting. Sometimes there's a point, but more often he's just spamming the **** outta us.

Not too long ago I was reporting all of tuq's posts like a boss. Even got it's own thread.

Glory days of reporting posts.

Nah, reporting of posts, esp for really obnoxious name calling, racism, bigotry, etc are good. Plus low-post-count handles that are trolling. But yeah, lots of them suck.

I just assumed that All-in was making all those reports as some sort of attempt to either make a joke or maybe point out all the rulebreaking that goes on to make some sort of point or something, as users will sometimes do to show all the unchecked lawlessness which takes place. Regardless of his intent I stopped paying attention to them awhile back.

Taking the 8-bit era out of a video game draft would be like taking everyone who ever played for the Lakers out of an NBA Dynasty draft. 8-bit gaming, and the NES in particular, revived what was seen as a dead industry after the video game crash of '83.

a video game draft needs an arcade category too. some games were just better in that format, and it's an important part of gaming. [undrafted] springs to mind, i remember i couldn't wait when it finally got ported to a console. counting down the days for it to come out was like waiting for Christmas, put so many hours in. was a GOAT game to play with a bunch of people.

We need a pre color handheld group as well as colored handheld. Also one for peripherals, movie tie in or inspired by vg movie, and goat beverage sponsor.

The PC thing is difficult because you get people (like myself) who have owned numerous consoles of different brands and eras but have never really done any PC gaming. Then again there are people who exclusively play PC games. I get your point though. But from reading the original draft proposal, it sounds like you're required to pick one game from each of 5-6 categories, then the other 4-5 can be of any category. So you could draft 4-5 PC games if you wanted to.

Mebbe something like this:

1. Arcade from dawn of man to 1985.
2. Arcade to present.

3. Home systems from dawn of man to 1985.
4. Home systems from 1985 to 16 bit GPU.
5. Home systems: Play Station 2 and equivalent era.
6. Home systems: Play Station 3 and equivalent to present.

7. PC: dawn of man to 1990;
8. PC: 1991 to 2000;
9. PC: 2001 to present.

10. Handheld from dawn of man to 2000;
11. Handheld: 2000 to present.

12 - 15. wildcards. Can include anything from any era. This would include text-based which do not really fit into the above categories.

too many categories, probably don't need to be that restrictive.

i mean like tschubauer, how many people are going to have good picks for every one of those categories? it's totally fair that not everyone (or anyone) would have played on each platform in every era. i mean c'mon, man!

I really do consider PC gaming just one era of gaming because it has its own culture. I might consider putting a pre 90's cap on the pc era too.

8-bit gaming positively progressed gaming but outside of Mario 3, what do you want to play now? Tecmo Bowl? Meh. Most of us our 20-30's I imagine too. I have great memories of the NES but I own zero virtual console games on my wii from it cause all the SNES versions are just better.

I understand people wanting to show their appreciation for handhelds, old games, pong...but you have to draw a line somewhere. I would consider making the NES/Arcade/handheld a wildcard era. I want to concentrate this draft in order for making it easier for everyone to judge. The Rap and Youtube drafts are fun but ffs they're all legit opinions. I want winners and losers in this draft. Handhelds, arcade, two button games...we can't draft masterpieces in their own right but that's so of the point, to condense things thus making each pick more valuable.

Exactly. I'm giving both sides a chance to draft however they want really. I only play PC gaming when I get a new laptop every 2 years or so and by then all of the games I'm playing are "kind of" outdated.

Pretty much. If you want to draft 6 PC games then you can and then draft four underrated console strategy games that barely any people have ever played...then go for it and I think it could be an effective plan.

I think Dreamcast has to be PS2/Xbox/Cube era too since the Saturn was in the N64/PSX era.
