Not really sure where else to post this, but I thought it was pretty hilarious.

My undergrad was pretty terribly fiscally mismanaged and faced a situation a few years ago of either closing the doors or dropping to Div III. With a student body of ~850 we should have never been DI in the first place as we gave roughly 1/4 of the student body a full ride, and then compounded the problem by joining the Sunbelt meaning teams had to regularly travel to the Dakotas, Indianapolis and other far-flung locales from Shreveport, LA.

I got a alumni donation request letter from the sports department yesterday, that has some of the most lol spin I've seen in a while:

Yep. And worked there for about 5 years after graduation, so I was pretty familiar with the situation. When I say they were mismanaged, it was partly terrible **** like being unable to solve even the most minor problems without bringing in highly paid outside consultants, but partly awesome stuff for me like phenomenal medical insurance and 200% matches on 401k's up to 5%. Because of the latter I cut them a little slack with what all went down, but still I don't think we need to discuss the most terrible thing to ever happen to my undergrad like it's a good thing. So glad I decided to go back to school when I did because I'm pretty sure I would have been laid off in the next few months if I hadn't.
