This, although I'm pretty sure WIM was MEb. At least I hope so, because I tore into the ESPN guy who wrote an entire article about it.

I sent him an email trying to see if he read 2+2 or where he had heard the term from. He never responded.

First WIM the search brings up is etats:

How would one go about calculating a WIM (wanting it more) stat?

Is it PER + APM/Heart+Intangibles*RANGZ?

Here's the article: http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nba...ris&id=5211990

The guy never responded to me either, but I was kind of mean.

writers have been talking about players who "want it more" forever, isnt that the whole point of the joke here?

Yes, but the writer from ESPN specifically called it "WIM", which until then I'd never seen anywhere outside of 2+2.

edit: It's so obscure urbandictionary wouldn't accept our submission.

A lot of it was the timing of the article. It wasnt too much later than mebs post with the formula and the subsequent discussion in tz that was pretty fun for a week or two. Seemed too much similar to be just a coincidence, but it probably was.

a rather large social im involved in irl uses the following phrases with regularity:

"butnahh"
"pozzed"
"HUD"
"LDO"

(i attribute all of the above to 2+2 and not the greater internet... maybe not butnahh, but sort of)

all as a result of yeotajmu and i using them and since we're awesome as ****, it caught on.

i was watching a football game with a girl tangentially related to this social group like over 2 years ago (but who i never really hung out with in college) and cutler threw a pick and she goes CUTLAHHHHHHHHHHHH

my mind was blown

well the truth is 98% of internet memes originate from 4chan or somethingawful, mostly 4chan.

starts at 4chan

gets transitioned to the less sicko/but still hardcore internet crowd on digg/reddit

then it trickles down everywhere else like 2+2, IGN, etc.
