On a very simple level, if a poster is willing to create something like the LW gimmick then it was surely correct to ban their primary account. The poster concerned is clearly not here to engage 'honestly' in discussion.

The wider questions are kinda strange to think about though. Someone that is sitting at home meticulously working on developing another persona (replete with knowledge of English / Australian specific sports) and getting in and out of character constantly is probably someone I wouldn't want to have a beer with. I know that many just go 'Internet lol', but I do believe that if you use a discussion forum in this way it says a lot about who you are outside of the Internet. And in this case, we are talking about a guy who scammed / stole a bunch of money. The glove fits, etc.

Who cares. This isn't NATO.

The forum consists of 5% real discussion, 60% gameday lulz and 35% trainwreck lulz, and would be much less popular if the ratio shifted towards discussion.

That 95% will be there anyway because of, you know, sport doing it's thing. The idea that the majority of what goes on in here depends on the likes of TuT is way off imo. But as far as the 5% is concerned (I'd argue it's a higher percentage but whatever) eliminating his ilk seems like a net positive.

Gotta say Clark's modding is A+++++++. He has a really good sense of humor and does a great job of differentiating wrong stuff that is actually funny from wrong stuff that is just awful content from awful posters, be they deliberately or legitimately ******ed.

I only skimmed the thread but I agree with the mods in this case. Epi and Bitchface have been cancers to the forum for a while now and derailed a ton of serious discussions. Both were once good posters who ended up turning into complete trolls, the forum is way better without both of them.
