That's not even really wrestling though. I've seen a bunch of these videos before and it's just... not the same thing. Totally awesome in it's own right, but come on.
Plus I'm sure Jeff woulda got loopy enough to do the same things if he had to. Lucky for him he had much more talent and charisma. He was the WWF Heavyweight champion FFS.
Give it 10 years.
edit: actually, after rewatching I deem it flat out ******ed. There is no point whatsoever. Still kinda awesome, but wtf? It's just stupid people doing stupid things plain and simple.
Sting should've been much, much bigger than he was, even at his peak, just imo.
Maybe my memory is jaded, but I recall Sting being huge at one point. He was Goldberg's main nemesis when he was starting up his streak I believe. He def could have been bigger and maybe should have though, I agree.

If he would have been in WWF during that peak he would have been huge.
This.

Really? He's one of the better gimmicks in history. Sure he's no Macho Man... but everything works. From the somewhat creepy "dark" side to the trench coat to the bat to coming from the rafters and ****ing peoples day up. He is/was awesome.

yeah i was joking. i would die like 3 minutes into one of hardy's tlc matches.
that deathmatch **** is basically like watching a car accident.
always thought by far the worst finisher to endure as an opponent would be the pedigree
Pedigree seems pretty harmless. I think the riskiest is the Tombstone or any variation of it. A lot of times I remember the pedigree just being the guy falling on his face.
I wouldn't want to get hit with a People's Elbow either.
i heard that a few months ago jeff hardy came to a tna show so ****ed up that they had sting basically hold him down and pin him against his will in the first minute of the match.
he still works for the company.
such an amazing business.
edit: lol was the main event of a ppv for the title
match starts at 7:30 or so. at ~9:00 you can see hardy try to kick out but sting doesn't let him.
This video is actually fascinating if you want to see how the business deals with a situation like this. I haven't watched it in awhile, but I remember the ref giving the "X" sign with his arms (which basically means a wrestler is legit hurt/unable to perform). Bischoff had to come out under the guise of giving some promo (which I think he pulled out of his ass on the spot) when in reality he was relaying the new finish to the ref/Sting and then he talked to Hardy about something.
Also at the end a fan yells something like "this is bull****" and you can hear Sting yell "I agree, I agree." What a trainwreck.

Yeah Piledrivers/Tombstone seem the most dangerous.

just seems incredibly painful and the chance of shoulder damage in the pedigree seems high imo. like the tombstone at least taker/kane are able to control their opponents body to some degree and can try to keep it harmless
Pedigree is just a double armed DDT with a teabagging thrown in. If Trips holds the guys arm like he does now, it's a super safe move to take. If he drops them like he should, it's a pretty cool face plant.
Most painful finisher = Ganso bomb
Spoiler:
yeah, it's not intentional, but I mean still- ouch.
Was never really a fan of pro wrestling, so not really seeing why that video is depressing. Is it just because you grew up watching him? All his problems seem self inflicted.

Like most cases, knowing what he was makes knowing what he is more tragic.

Really? So do you just ignore that he has a massive substance abuse problem because you liked watching him wrestle? Seems like he started abusing drugs and alcohol during his career, so its not even like a post career addiction to pain killers/drugs like what commonly afflicts ex-athletes who end up like that. I can at least feel some sympathy and sadness when you see a former great who deals with the pain of his playing days by guzzling gallons of booze a week. Or all these recent hockey player deaths due to depression, probably caused by repeated hits to the head.
