Better live version of the above

And I say this as a big fan of the Talking Heads version.

lol

I prefer the TH version over the original Al Green version, but DMB (Who I don't like) played better background music than what was on the original AG version and AG's soul voice just kills it.

To each his own I guess, but I do like the TH version a lot fwiw.

Far from their most popular tune - but very cool imo (but then I would say that, right?).

Curious if you like any of these...
"Idioteque" & "Reckoner" were great picks iyam, but don't know if i really get "Talk Show Host" or especially "Hunting Bears", the latter which would probably rank among the lowest among non-fans alongside The Gloaming, or whatever. anyway, (i know i've posted this before) but here are some highlights from across their career:

Pablo Honey:

Creep
Anyone Can Play Guitar
Stop Wispering

The Bends:

Planet Telex
Just
(Nice Dream)
Street Spirit (Fade Out)

OK Computer:

Paranoid Android
Airbag
Electioneering
Airbag

Kid A:

The National Anthem
Morning Bell
Idioteque
Everything in its Right Place

Amnesiac:

I Might Be Wrong
Dollars & Cents
Knives Out
Pyramid Song

Hail to the Thief:

There There
Go To Sleep
Where I End and You Begin
Myxomatosis

In Rainbows:

Reckoner
Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
15 Step

sorry, nothing from "King of Limbs". still haven't fully digested that album quite yet.

At least everyone can agree The Gloaming is the nut low song. And I say this as a huge Radiohead fan.

High and Dry is their worst song imo. It's not even bad for Radiohead, it's just ****ing bad.

Anyway I would add The Bends (the song with that title), Optimistic, Like Spinning Plates, and Like Spinning Plates (live) as well. Love all those jamz.

i don't if The Gloaming is all that bad. it's probably in the bottom tier of their songs, but there are worse. Hunting Bears was posted above, that's better? how about Treefingers? Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors?

probably some others i forgot, a bunch of junk from Pablo Honey, stuff that made it on to solo albums instead, some crappy B-sides that they should have burned, etc. but my point is, there's worse stuff than The Gloaming.

Decent (less humorous than usual) article from one of my favorite websites on poker, probably good if you've ever had trouble trying to explain poker to a non-playing friend in a digestible manner.

Curious if you like any of these:

talk show host 1

sounded too muzaky for me at times. also not sure what he is talking/complaining about-- ****ty interviews?

I enjoy Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors actually. But I literally know none of the songs off Pablo Honey besides Creep, so I'm sure there are some bad ones on there. Hunting Bears is def in the running for WOAT though.

I picked Idioteque and Reckoner because I thought he might actually like them, but I only picked Hunting Bears because I like to see peoples reaction to it. I enjoy it personally.

BTW, you got me into Radiohead with your posts in the music draft thread last year. *high five!*

Yea, prob just not your type of music then. And re:idioteque, more or less. Some think it's about nuclear war, some global warming.

I'm beginning to think that high end razors like the quattro aren't much better than replacement level disposables. Someone convince me otherwise

Soundgarden concert was awesome. Better live than on the albums. Cornell just owned the stage. Great show.

Opening was a band called Mars Volta which had a reasonably polished sound for a sorta gothy sorta heavyish rock band but their lead singer was a total douchetard.

Hahaha Mars Volta suckssssssss.

music nerdery: They're the remnants of a band called At the Drive-In, which was amazing. Half the band formed Sparta which sucked. The other half formed Mars Volta, which sucks harder. Sparta sucks in a traditional sense, but Mars Volta comes up with new and terrifying ways to suck.

The only really decent thing about TMV was their skinny, nerdy trying-too-hard-to-be-cool lead guitarist, who was actually decent.
