My God Seattle has to be the most apathetic sports town in the country: http://www.seattlepi.com/sports/arti...-0-1450842.php

Batter walks on 3 pitches leading to only run of the game. No one on the team notices, not the manager, nor the catcher nor the pitcher, nor anyone in the stands apparently. And it was their own scoreboard that ****ed them.

But even more pathetic, while the national media has picked up this story and run with it - the Seattle paper has one little standard game story with zero comments from the readers.

Do Seattle people even have a pulse?

Yeah I read about that three ball thing. What's kind of surprising is that some nerdlinger in the stands wasn't keeping score, realized it, and started yelling down to the field. Maybe they did but it went ignored.

As for the players/manager, I can totally see them just figuring they'd missed a pitch given the tedium of the season and a pretty meaningless game. But the pitcher AND the catcher not noticing, damn.

a 5th down was once missed in a college football game in the early 90s. on the games final series, and Colorado scored on 5th down as time expired.

this is extremely minor compared to that.

On that same note, can anyone hear explain why I can hear my TV go into white noise(snow). I had it on mute and my back turned to it using my computer. Don't know exactly how to explain it, but I hear this high pitch yet nearly silent noise fading in and out and immediately know the TV has no signal (cable is down).

I figure I might as well ask here since everyone watches a lot of TV. I'm just scared I might be a mutant, like have autism or something.

Edit: And by white noise I don't mean the one you hear on recordings that sounds like a hiss, I just mean when the TV loses signal and has all those spots.

Yeah that one hurt. But in a football game people could be screaming bloody murder from the stands and no one would have heard. All it takes is one fan near the dugout to start yelling to alert the coaches to this. Plus baseball is a lot slower paced, you don't have the clock ticking down or a bunch of chaos like a game winning football drive. Still ridiculous obviously.
