It's a slight step towards getting things correct. It doesn't fix everything, as you note- but assuming there's time to do it (what, we're probably talking 2-3 calls per half?) I can't see the negatives. Also, if you have reason to suspect that that 2nd foul isn't going to hold up- maybe you don't sit the guy.

I think in general it would be nice for sports to take the overall approach of "humans are imperfect, we can help them get closer with technology". I also think there's an overall benefit of exposing refs to added public measures of accountability.

2-3 close foul calls per half? lol

ultimately it just opens a huge can of worms that nobody really would want to deal with, b/c the problem that it would attempt isn't a large one to start with

Here's a thought: Don't spend ANY time on the dumb idea and you won't have to wax poetic about losing your valuable time.
TBH, I more annoyed by the "I'm scared of TZ, so I'll just dump it here" portion of the discussion.

My friends that work in the service industry often seem to love the thrill of chasing a big tip, and while they might say they would rather have the steady money, I'm not really positive they would take it. Would something like this even fly in America?
Most the top waiters would realize they'd be actually paying taxes on all their earnings and go somewhere that they can get tips again. But there would be some that want the stability and presumably better benefits than other restaurants (I think that's implied in living wage). Especially people with kids who would rather have a predicatable income. As a result I think they would have a professional competent staff and lower turnover.

dids would have 18 people trolling him instantly if he put that in there. but then again in general, suggestions like that get [censored] on around here (as well they should)

What's funny is that you would eviscerate any bad idea ITT if it came from anyone but Dids. Cool that you feel so protective of him though.

Calling an idea **** is fine. I don't have an opinion either way of Dids' idea because I do not really understand basketball that much. But putting your time up on a pedestal like it is some valuable resource is ridiculous. Sweet god, why have you wasted my time with your inane drivel! I will be billing you for this injustice. etc.

ETA: Though sethy is right about being afraid to put a potentially bad idea in the thread it belongs in if that is his major concern

Fair enough.

While we're on the subject of Dids, can you see if you can get him to listen to the new Kanye album.

I have no idea what else came out in 2010 because I only listen to rap. I didn't want some hipster to be like, "DUDE EMO BAND DID THIS!!!"

I want to grab Eminem's EP but I think I'm just going to wait until Lil Wayne's come out next week.

Hipsters don't listen to emo music.
Pitchfork gave MBDTF a 10.0.
