They live between a Whole Foods and a Gristedes, so thankfully bottled water was most of what I drank.

I honestly have no idea where this would go and TZ scares me and I'm not starting a thread...

I think a system where every close foul call in the NBA is reviewed at halftime, and any judged to be incorrect are removed from a player's PF count would have some value.

Don't take points off the board or anything, but also don't allow errors to keep players out of the game.

Also I have a theory that I'd like somebody to refute, because I'm almost unquestionably wrong, that teams don't care enough about maintaining possession of the ball in soccer.

Are there any other sports topics about which you know little to nothing on which you'd like to opine in an inappropriate location?

This seems like the right place for it, no? He may know nothing about soccer, but I can't imagine where else we're supposed to say "lol hockey" and so forth.

The correct thing is actually what the CBA did for years, which is to get rid of the idea of fouling out/disqualification and for every personal foul above six the other team gets an additional point or free throw attempt. That provides a non-trivial penalty while not removing the best players from the game or having refs swallow the whistle to avoid fouling someone out.

Some things which were tested in the CBA were later adopted by the NBA (e.g. the circle underneath the basket) but this was one of the best ideas and it's never been given a trial.

One thing South Park has had that the other cartoon shows haven't is the speed with which they can put out an episode relevant to current events. I think they had the Mel Gibson episode out within a week of him being a major news story and have been just as quick with other events. This also makes some of their episodes much funnier if you see them when they're first shown rather than on reruns.

This calls for a variety of really inappropriate jokes but I'm just not in the mood.

Not just about fouling out though. A bad call that limits a player's minutes even if he doesn't foul out should be corrected if possible.

If a new mid to high-level restaurant opened up in your city that made a point of advertising that they were paying livable wages and/or salaries at the expense of accepting any tips and having higher up-front dinner prices, what kind of quality of applicant do you think it would receive? My friends that work in the service industry often seem to love the thrill of chasing a big tip, and while they might say they would rather have the steady money, I'm not really positive they would take it. Would something like this even fly in America?

Because fouls even on instant replay are subjective and it's a horrible idea in general.

Dids,

You won't get back the time that top players have to sit out in the first half when teams play it conservative with player fouls. I really don't see much of a point.

Nor will the rest of us get back the time we've spent discussing the idea. I think I'm going to go into the spoiler free GoT threads and starting asking book related questions because I'm too scared of the hardcore threads. This should be acceptable, I think.

Yes, everyone's time spent on 2p2 on this bad idea could have been spent doing anything else. Like spending time on a different section of 2p2 on another equally bad idea.

Here's a thought: Don't spend ANY time on the dumb idea and you won't have to wax poetic about losing your valuable time.
