Okay? People do the same thing in TZ during the regular season, but because one is a basketball thread and one is a hockey thread, nobody cares about the latter?

I don't really understand how that applies to the argument, using thread views as a measurement is useless regardless. There's a pretty big difference in basketball and hockey popularity on this forum. If you want to argue otherwise, then I don't know what to tell you.

Didn't read closely enough obviously, my bad. Still, if we went to a single NBA playoffs thread, it would dwarf the NHL thread. Part of the reason we opted to do single series threads and not post in TZ during games was to allow casual fans a better chance to contribute. People complain enough about TZ and how it's impossible to keep up.. this was supposed to be a solution to that during an important time of the year.

I'm not saying an NBA Playoff thread wouldn't dwarf a NHL one, it obviously would. I'm just saying the argument that nobody cares about the NHL in this forum is clearly wrong.

It's not that nobody cares, it's that the majority of the forum doesn't. The NBA's popularity warrants individual series threads. The NHL's lack of popularity warrants a playoff threadzilla. I would like to see individual conference finals and finals threads, though.

We are really discussing this? Does it matter? Let the sports do their thing. If the NHL fans really wanted separate threads I'm sure they could of done it, or maybe a Eastern 1st/Western 1st round kind of stuff. I might have preferred that as I'm mostly opposed to mega threads, but either way this argument is pointless and I say cut it off now before someone decides to cross the line.

72 relax. Its pretty clear you have some inferiority complex knowing that the NFL draft is coming up and that it trumps everything else in SE. Trust me, its ok, tuq goes through it every major of the golf season.

nah. i was just listing everything i could see from the top 2-3 pages to indicate what was going on atm, to combat tuq's claim of this being a slowish time of year. wasn't trying to make any other point, and they weren't listed in order of importance or anything.
