I have never seen a gas station that lets you fill up after the station closes for the night.

I really hope someone starts the WNBA Threadzillette soon. I'd do it myself but I think it needs to be started by someone who will pay proper tribute to the memory of the Detroit Shock.

Either bonds or kkcountry needs to get back before a WNBA thread can take off

I've done it a handful of times. If they have a modern pay at the pump it should be fine.

The plus side is that if you make the mistake of entering Jersey without a full tank of gas, you still never have to actually set foot in the state.

They have some in CA. In some rural places there is no attendant on duty. They do have an emergency shut off valve that's highly visible.

I very much enjoy the smell of gasoline on my hands. I'm thinking about bottling it and selling it as cologne

This is pretty standard at newer gas stations. lights are off in the store, no clerk but machines are still on for credit/debit purchases.

Theres enough people in the state, they want to keep the riff raff and and make them continue to think its dirty. Its a great idea actually.

How many states could your average American name?

Few guys at work today could only name around 20/32 counties in Ireland. I was pretty shocked.

"Average" American? I'd say 30-35. We're a dumb bunch.

The average American is pretty dumb.

My guess is they could name about twenty.

Depends on the time limit. Give the slack jawed yokels enough time and a lot of them will get them all

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, Foodblog, and Forum Discussion

Sporcle had 8mins to name the 32 counties in Ireland so lets say we give 20-25mins for the 50 states of America.

There is a map on the screen with the states marked out.

http://www.sporcle.com/games/states.php

It took me five minutes. Even with a map I kind of got stumped at the end.

How is it possible to not get all 50 when there's a map?

Louisiana is hard for me to spell apparently. At least Mississippi has a song.
