We actually have a chance of having a dominant enough defense that Cassel heroics won't be needed. Also they got him a nice tall reliever who can recover and make great plays on his inaccurate throws (as opposed to a burner, who would be completely useless as long as we have Cassel). Basically we'll have a chance to win a playoff game. But prob not next year because our schedule is brutal.

Please tell me what's delusional there. We might have the best secondary in the league next year, we've got two linebackers and one 3-4 DE playing at a pro-bowl level. Hali led the AFC in sacks. We've got a legit pro-bowl WR and one of the top 2-3 running backs in the game.

All I said is we'd be good enough to win a playoff game with Cassel, but prob not this year. And um, we did already make the playoffs with him, and um he did make the pro bowl - although even I'll concede that's kind of a joke. But he's not terrible. He doesn't make many mistakes. He's just not a SB-caliber QB.

So again, what exactly is delusional there?

Oh yeah, the greatest 9-7 team in the history of everything. By 2012 who knows where they'll be. Nobody stays on top in the NFL for that long.

Also you can still win a playoff game as a wildcard. You guys act like I'm talking instant dynasty or something. I think I was actually pretty conservative. Obviously I *hope* we get some run good and do better than just win a playoff game by 2013 or w/e. I do think next year is make or break for Cassel. If he regresses or even stays where he's at they will start looking for someone else. His contract is such that they could dump him now if they wanted and not take a huge cap hit - and certainly at the end of 2011 season.
