I actually agree with this. Not that I mind them at all, but I can fully understand why it would be annoying to non-NBA fans. Normally it's haters gonna hate, but I think this is valid.

It's probably a stupid thing to make a stink about, but every series getting their own thread seems a bit excessive, for the first round at least. I guess the counter-argument to that would be that it's valid because the NBA gets so much traffic and stuff, which I can also see.

But it's just going to spread **** all over the place and clutter-**** the first page with 8 different series going on.

We used individual threads for the first round last year and it worked well. We're doing it, in part, to make it easier for non-TZ regs. Plus, there's not a lot going on right now, so it's not like important stuff is going to get pushed to page two. The big first round threads should just be deleted to save some room.

If people are grouchy about the number of NBA threads now, just wait until all eight series threads are started, those + draft thread + main thread + whatever else I am missing could easily occupy 50% of the threads on the first page.

The complaint is certainly understandable by those not interested in discussing the sport, but hopefully in this slow-ish time of year it won't be too big of an issue.

We are planning on having a thread for each group (8 groups) which is pretty standard. Then most likely single threads for each KO game.

I dont see a problem with the NBA threads, doesnt bother me.

funny thing about people complaining is iirc that the threads were splintered created to encourage posting by non regulars. multiple threads-- why are the nba regs trying to take over the forum. a small # of threads-- non regs won't post b/c it's too cliquey or they are intimidated or w/e. someone will always bitch

Not a huge problem though, people can still find the threads that they need to. Just might not be on Page 1 anymore...

I'm pretty sure football is hands-down the most discussed sport, which completely eclipses NBA and MLB, which themselves are mostly confined to two threads in the main forum. You have NFL, college, a bunch of college football conference threads, a bunch of NFL division threads, etc. Sprinkle in something from Parole Officer's Random Thread Generator and GREEAR's latest attempt to self-ban and the front page is pretty crowded in the fall.

good grief, more bitching about too many threads? Don't you guys look for the check marks next to the threads you are subscribed to? It takes hardly any time to find what you want. Plus all the series threads will be gone in a relative short amount of time.
