I've very very rarely smoked this year. It's probably a big factor in my abrasiveness

Could be. You've certainly at times been a very "angry" poster the last 6 months, which is not at all what I recall from the years of posting prior to that.

iirc he said that Asik had a historically elite RAPM for a rookie, which is true. TZ has gone ******ed over samples much smaller than 1k minutes in the past

*edit: I was wrong, he did not caviat it w/for a rookie, making it a pretty rediculus statement

but yeah, all of this. thinking about the Kevin Love stuff and the way people reacted to it still gets me mad.

I know that none of the mods read MLB discussions, but the relevant threads have been solid for months. Not sure why GREEAR is allowed to post in the regular season thread (many people want to know!) but he has been fine just as he has been for the past year or whatever.

kyle,

he was never not allowed to post in SE. he exiled himself when michigan choked against an inferior duke team, but then came back as a result of many appeals from the tired, poor, and huddled masses.

Yeah, I agree. We collectively as mods need to start actually enforcing the FAQ as it's obviously been a mistake to allow so much name calling, trolling etc.

I'm going to start by trying to improve my posting (which mostly means not mocking Jetto constantly - I admit it's been bad form on my part (though I did get at least a few laughs and there's a reasonably large group that doesn't think having a forum mascot is cute or funny), not engaging obvious troll attempts directed at me and better and more consistently enforcing the FAQ. I made a good start by banning some new troll account that had twice made Epi fat jokes yesterday.

This does mean temp bans for what I consider to be trolling, ala the "what Bynum did wasn't intentional or that bad" posts yesterday, or some of Thayer's Kobe stuff or Epi's Labron stuff. Will give warnings if appropriate, but if I have to consistently warn an individual poster several times over the course of a week or whatever, the warnings will stop and we go straight to whatever temp ban period it is.

The fact that you think it's funny etc is why so many people wonder why you're still around. You can srsbznz me all you want, but the forum isn't the personal playground for people to create fake arguments and entertain themselves by screwing with others. It's hard enough to correctly interpret text - making it confusing is detrimental to the dialogue that most here are looking for.

Honestly, if you posted more like you do in Skype (at least as I remember it) you'd do fine, as there you seem to engage in more normal conversation without the overt Manning/Labron type trolling, or the absurd casualfan "Game 4 is the Mavs Game 7" trolling.

I read it. And I've been out of town(still am) and he just started posting right before I left. Honestly I don't care, its a reflection on him rather than anything else. Can't stay to his word just means the dude is a fraud. So its aight imo.

I don't participate on the forums much (nothing wrong with that imo, if you're not good at posting, best not to post at all), but the fact that victor is still banned is a heaping, stinking pile of hot garbage. I didn't know much about NBA beyond a very limited casualfan understanding until I started reading TZ this year. That thread opened my eyes and victor is a big reason. He provides insight and lols well above the average poster, and the NBA threads are notably weaker without him. I know he occasionally trolls/namecalls () but it's not like he was on Thremp's level, which was a banning I can at least understand, if not fully agree with.

This is a sports forum for christ's sake. Stop acting like peevish women.

that's kind of a weird opinion imo. vic was a very entertaining poster but thremp had way way way more to offer in the "how to think about sports" department despite being very abrasive.

but ok you're entitled to your opinion.

Agreed, Thremp's analysis was great, but he couldn't help but be an over-the-top a-hole at times. I don't agree with his banning, but I understand how he could piss off the authorities to the point of getting banned.

Victor didn't have the same problem. His banning might be the stupidest I've ever seen.

most of that stuff generates decent to very good basketball discussion, even if at some point you just have to tune out bobbo's avalanche of stats that prove other stats that prove other stats.
