Yeah, I agree. We collectively as mods need to start actually enforcing the FAQ as it's obviously been a mistake to allow so much name calling, trolling etc.
I'm going to start by trying to improve my posting (which mostly means not mocking Jetto constantly - I admit it's been bad form on my part (though I did get at least a few laughs and there's a reasonably large group that doesn't think having a forum mascot is cute or funny), not engaging obvious troll attempts directed at me and better and more consistently enforcing the FAQ. I made a good start by banning some new troll account that had twice made Epi fat jokes yesterday.
This does mean temp bans for what I consider to be trolling, ala the "what Bynum did wasn't intentional or that bad" posts yesterday, or some of Thayer's Kobe stuff or Epi's Labron stuff. Will give warnings if appropriate, but if I have to consistently warn an individual poster several times over the course of a week or whatever, the warnings will stop and we go straight to whatever temp ban period it is.

i don't think that guys troll was awful anyway, was pretty funny considerin how many ppl fell for it.
The fact that you think it's funny etc is why so many people wonder why you're still around. You can srsbznz me all you want, but the forum isn't the personal playground for people to create fake arguments and entertain themselves by screwing with others. It's hard enough to correctly interpret text - making it confusing is detrimental to the dialogue that most here are looking for.
Honestly, if you posted more like you do in Skype (at least as I remember it) you'd do fine, as there you seem to engage in more normal conversation without the overt Manning/Labron type trolling, or the absurd casualfan "Game 4 is the Mavs Game 7" trolling.
