C'mon dude, the Columbo line was pretty funny. Also that you didn't seem to get that people write on the Internet now.
You mean the playground burn that got old in HS? Yeah definitely amazing and worth all the mindless high-fiving. I'm sure if I'd made the exact same joke I would have gotten the same chorus of high-fives from my clique. That's just how we roll.

Maybe it's burnout from the politics forum but I get leary of the "guess why you're wrong" game, even if I'm 90% sure of where the other poster is going.

He was also half-kidding.
You didn't even remotely understand my point.

This one was beyond obvious.

Even in Boston, where half the ******* columnists that show up on ESPN come from, every serious fan knows the best information and analysis comes from blogs or message boards (SOSH).

The funny part is you always act like a clique is attacking you when usually the only common ground shared between the posters is a strong belief in "lol Suzzer."

I get your point. Your point is that it is no longer 1992 and that is not awesome.

Seriously. I hate everyone here except agdci because he's the only one who understands how awesome the Steelers are.

It really depends on how the person is affected. Some can function fairly normally, some cannot. I knew a guy who had it. I didn't know him all that well, but he was a friend of one of my close friends. I think the best thing for him was that my friened continued to treat this guy just like any other friend. He'd have him over for bbq's, card games, etc. and he'd bust his balls just like he would with anyone else.

Of course, it was obvious to me that my friend overcompensated a little bit by making sure that the guy was invited to everything or that events were held at times he could attend. In the end, I think it was really good because one thing that seemed to happen (and I have other experience with similar situations) is that the victim loses friends along the way and cannot put himself in a postion to replace the ones he lost. It's pretty slow march towards lonliness and depression.

In your case, if this guy is your buddy, you are going to have to be strong and come to the realization right away that like it or not, you might be the last guy standing with him. It will be a big commitment to hang in there with your buddy. You being that guy will be almost as much as a burden than having MS yourself.

My high school didn't have a playground.

What is everyone fighting about?

Literally everyone I know who has gone to law school hates it. Literally. I don't know why anyone would do it. "Yeah, get 120k in debt doing three years of something we hate, so we can do many more years of something we hate to pay off that debt! Woooo!"

The best is hearing them justify the scumbag **** they often do to pay off the debt, like the fact that law school is expensive was news to them only after they graduated.

I met a girl who is representing a serial-suer in a slip-and-fall case against Goodwill. Goodwill.

Most of the people I knew in law school really liked it. I didn't understand why, but they did.

Anyhow, the one thing that people hate even more than law school is hearing about anything, anything, you did while in law school.

Some of you might not know this, but I know a thing or two about killing conversations, and bringing up your law school days is as reliable as lending a railbird 20 bucks with the understanding that you will never see him again.

I mean, I don't understand the degree to which people are willing to sell out their integrity and time to make money (especially in a case like law school, which sucks so much money out of you and crushes your soul). Not saying I'm anyone special, but I think I've managed to remain relatively true to myself, which isn't that hard as long as long as you aren't just super ****ing greedy.

edit: granted I have been surprisingly poor for a surprising amount of my adult life, but so what? if you don't need to flash money around or buy expensive **** for its own sake, it's easy to live that way.

The degree of someone's integrity is more or less something that gets revealed as opposed to sold out.

I sleep pretty well knowing I fell off my early college track of ending up in banking or law or politics. I've never asked myself, in a professional sense, "Am I a bad person for what I do?"

And now I am off to the bar to probably be a bad person in my personal life.

I just value my free time a hell of a lot more than the stuff I can buy. I mean the biggest thing I've treated myself to this year was a 2GB external HD I got on sale for $109. And I guess much of the **** that I'm interested in acquiring I can do for free.

2GB? That's like 6 episodes of Mad Men.

Yeah, so have I, I just don't live like that anymore. Got everything I need without spending money. I get a lot more satisfaction chillin' with my woman and maybe firing one up at home than I do going out. Rather cook than go for expensive meals. Etc.

I was going to give you **** about this then I realized that a $110 bar tab in NO probably takes some serious work doing.

Happy Hour and drink specials being illegal in Boston would have been a dealbreaker had I known anything at the time.

If you aren't downtown $110 is an epic amount of booze. Most of my triple digit tabs are downtown though at places that usually have pretty standard city prices.

actually, cereal is the expensive part. a box of cinnamon toast crunch is gonna run you over 4 bucks. a dozen eggs is like 3 bucks.
