Really? You can't think of any other reason why it would make me sad? You're just going to fly right to that one?

I was out golfing this morning and I arrive at the course which is a local council owned course in an "other side of the house" part of town. The football pitch is covered with campervans and there is a big screen set up at the front and back showing the ****ing wedding. JFC, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. What a bunch of sad ****s.

LATimes.com decided to pick the Royal Wedding to morph itself into some kind of auto play TV station. I couldn't figure out which one of browser tabs was making noise at 3am. It was kind of feaky.

Oh yes I watched. I watched them run and duck for cover as I took aim at them from the 1st tee.

this isn't really the best thread to link this in but instead of linking it in every single thread in this forum i'll just put it here:

i've probably tried and failed to make this point hundreds of times in se and poz makes it look easy. he's so ****ing good at writing it's almost a shame he writes about sports.

Thanks. I haven't been looking at his blog regularly lately so I might have missed that, and it's great. It's also something that I think about a lot. Just yesterday my coworkers were talking about who their teams took in the draft and all I could think to myself was, "How do you have such strong opinions about this when you so clearly don't know what you're talking about? You're just saying stuff for the sake of saying stuff, and none of it means anything."

But, of course, for most people that's the point of sports.

posnanski is a must-read for anyone interested in any sports. i'll read his stuff on golf even though i don't give a [censored] about golf. hell, i'll read his family material.

jtg: pos also made the point in his nfl draft live chat last night that everyone will basically forget their initial reaction to their team's pick.

His article on Nick Charles is the only reason I know that Nick Charles is dying, so I appreciate him for that.

The KC Star had Posnanski and Jason Whitlock (before he went off the deep end) for 10+ years. We knew we had it unnaturally good. Now we have some guy who is basically an intern (and unreadable). I wonder where sports columnists are going to cut their chops now that newspapers are on flatlining.

The draft is obviously a ridiculous but natural extension of the internet-age, "everyone has the tools to be a GM" mentality. But I still enjoy it.
