When all of the forum's mods take issue with the posters style- you may want to rethink "this is what the forum is like" arguments. Whatever norms you think exist clearly aren't what the people steering the forum want. That's been made clear, adapt or find a new place with norms you can tolerate.

As a basic outsider, the people I understand to be TZ regs spend the bulk of the time making terrible, bratty, no content posts, and not just in SE. The worst part is that they're more than willing to fire off a couple lines of snobbish contrary u madism, but never willing to actually engage in a conversation. It's not that everybody needs to be super serious, but it would be nice if people were trying to have a conversation and not just score sick burn points and impress their friends with their capacity to be aloof.

Meh, I generally agree with Tuq, but I don't think Victor or FlyingRat should be perma banned over this. It was a lame prank, but nothing too serious. A one week ban or something similar for Victor I can understand, since circumventing the ban was dumb.

Though I will say at times I'm not even sure Victor enjoys posting here anymore. Dude has started to seem kind of miserable as of late.

I don't know about others, but I concur with this. With each troll or level that's been let through, it's an insult upon the mods. Basically denigrating and degrading your "duty" on here. It really is a slippery slope, and the broken windows/glass theory may be the best way to deal with the issue.

I agree. The mods do have a responsibility to keep things within forum rules. I wasn't directing my post at them. That part was meant for the posters that want to ban somebody for not being a good poster(in their eyes) instead of breaking forum rules. If we go that route, I am confident all of us could come up with at least 1-2 posters we do not like that we should have removed for being annoying.




eh, then punish those posters as it comes, don't punish everybody else involved(in this case, jetto, rat) just because of association. also, jetto's association is just assumed, but afaik he is not in skype

It was a search for my posts in this forum. Of which there are several.

A handful of posts in a few threads, none of which are frequented by the people in question. Congrats! You are about as qualified to comment on this situation as you are to be a mod.

while i don't think being annoying is a reason to be banned, being intentionally annoying after being warned to stop several times seems to be.

A search reveals that Dids has at least 250 posts in SE since 1-02-11. I would have bet the under there, I have to admit.

That's not why he's not qualified, he's not qualified because he has no idea what he's talking about in this case and also is one of those who regularly complains just to hear himself. His posts are white noise.
