This isn't an uber elite forum where people can only discuss sports at the highest level. It's a public forum where people can post casually or more seriously. If you don't like somebody's posting style then put them on ignore, and if you are still irritated by the occasional quoted post of said ignored poster, then sack the **** up and get over it.
When all of the forum's mods take issue with the posters style- you may want to rethink "this is what the forum is like" arguments. Whatever norms you think exist clearly aren't what the people steering the forum want. That's been made clear, adapt or find a new place with norms you can tolerate.
As a basic outsider, the people I understand to be TZ regs spend the bulk of the time making terrible, bratty, no content posts, and not just in SE. The worst part is that they're more than willing to fire off a couple lines of snobbish contrary u madism, but never willing to actually engage in a conversation. It's not that everybody needs to be super serious, but it would be nice if people were trying to have a conversation and not just score sick burn points and impress their friends with their capacity to be aloof.
