I was just forced to sit through a 90 minute lecture on why athletes at universities are receiving far too many benefits over non-athletes and should be doing more to give back to the universities "like greek organizations."

A big part of the lecture was the benefits athletes receive over non-athletes and two of the major points were "travelling" and "weight training."

LOL

Yeah nothing better than riding a bus to some no name city to play football and leave

I won't lie that access to the premium weight rooms is a bonus but obviously it's needed and it's not like students don't have a gym on campus

so j...m..a....k....i..n made sure everyone knew she was a terrible person, while also begging for sympathy for himself, letting everybody know that he was a bright spot in his life

I don't know how these perks were forgotten. I don't blame the lecturer as the entire presentation seemed like it was read off of cue cards. At the same time I don't know how any individual could willingly spew like that in front of a crowd.

I'd pass

Quote:
People take creatine as a sort of catch-all muscle-builder, but if you look at the chemistry involved you'll see that's not how it works. "The ATP-PC energy manufacture (explained above) is used for high intensity (heavy lifting at few reps) or short duration (50m dash) anaerobic activities," notes Jackson. "When exercise reaches the 30-50 second range (think 8-12 reps, which is what is typically need for hypertrophy, or 'the enlargement of an organ or tissue from the increase in size of its cells'), the body relies on anaerobic glycolysis, which is the chemical breakdown of glucose. That is provided by not by creatine, but by our old friend carbohydrates."

So we're talking about bursts of speed or power, not necessarily long-term building, though bursts of speed and power can certainly be an important element in training. "Creatine helps with the ATP-PC system, that's short anaerobic exercises. Heavy lifting, short sprints," says Jackson. "Phosphocreatine replenishes our ATP so we can continue to do heavy weight work or sprints repeatedly." In other words, it may help you endure the rigors of something like interval training for longer periods of time, enabling you to do more work. It doesn't, however, do the work for you.

While the National Institutes of Health agrees and acknowledges that creatine is "possibly effective for improving the athletic performance of young, healthy people during brief, high-intensity exercise such as sprinting," it also notes that, "Creatine does not seem to improve performance in aerobic exercises, or benefit older people" and that "there is still some uncertainty about exactly who can benefit from creatine and at what dose. Studies to date have included small numbers of people (all have involved fewer than 40 participants), and it is not possible to draw firm conclusions from such small numbers."

In other words, you'd better take your Grain of Salt Supplements along side your Creatine Power Blaster XXX Turbo.

Think I've mentioned the source before, but at a conference the RD for the Colorado Avalanche (and the ex-Avalanche RD that now works with Navy Seals) presented quite a bit of evidence that creatine and caffeine are the only things that actually work.

They use it in strength conditioning as the only supplement.

Wasnt there a version of jacked or craze that was full of a (now banned) amphetamine analog? Id imagine that'd be pretty effective. But ive heard essentially the same about caffeine/creatine, though from less interesting sources.

Our market is the same round the clock and it's open all day except 4-5P Central time.

But yeah, elite work hours for weekend trips. And Sunday night/Monday mornings are notoriously slow so if I'm exhausted/hungover it doesn't really matter as long as I'm awake.

I had a night schedule for a time on one of the first shows I ever did, more or less the same schedule. It was great, obviously way different if married or in a relationship.
