You should never take that 201 class unless you want math as a career. Or theoretical math heavy scientific career. Physics is obviously math heavy but there's math and then there's theoretical math.

I was 6 credits short of a math major, didn't finish due to time/getting accepted to PhD.

tarheels, i only remember learning tensor calculus in vector analysis. i'm sure there was more but that's all i recall, because we derived relativity one time in some physics class and they glossed over all the tensor stuff.

Nothing, I am just being facetious. I'd prefer to shop at Brooks Brothers, but I am not that wealthy.

I don't actually dress that well myself. I work in an academic laboratory where the standard of dress is shocking, so I routinely wear cargo shorts, crappy tee's and chucks. But I got close to 30, still dressing worse than undergrads. I realised I needed to change a bit, so I spent a bit of time reading and learning some of the "rules" and have slowly been accumulating a better wardrobe over the last 12 months or so.

I stopped wearing black pants when I was eating boneless wings and some ranch dressing dripped off the wing onto my pants and I looked really foolish.

Black pants are fine as long as you rock them with black belt and shoes. Anything else looks awful.

Black suit is fine for business, but I would rather do a charcoal type color where it's a little lighter black. Still looks like a black suit mostly, but slightly less formal.

This is coming from a guy that hasn't worn a tie since NYE and hasn't worn pants to work other than jeans in equally as long.

And Riverman is right about Index funds.

Find ones with the greatest diversification and lowest fees and you should have as good a chance as any. The stock market is about grinding out a slow, modest return on your money, not GAMBOOOOOL it up and make 2000% in 6 months. If you want to do that, play poker or something.

I agree with index funds, specifically ETFs, for any non-professional investor. SPY is what I would recommend unless another fund is free to trade through your broker (for instance IVV with Fidelity). This way you can add in blocks of $2000-3000 and average in every few months without killing yourself on commissions.
