Everyone,

Victor is annoying in totally non-LOL CANADA-related ways. Glad we were able to clear that up before the weekend.

yea there are so many other cleveland fans who post on this forum who pudge was obviously referring to

incase that wasn't obvious it was a joke, the only 2 cleveland fans i can recall posting in tz/nfl threads/se are victor/wiper altho i'm sure there a few moar i'm forgetting/don't realize cause i don't follow hockey/baseball. point is there are not many at all.

did pudge mention anyone specifically from detroit or pittsburgh? no? although i agree i forgot that he mentioned your post specifically

the point still stands, you went into a thread that had absolutely nothing to do with what you were talking about, where someone used a meme that is prevalent internet wide, to make the thread about yourself. that's completely absurd. how did you even find that post?

Victor makes a hijacky post in the Chara thread.
I respond itt

Quote:
[this] Is exactly the problem, I have had with some TZ posters.. They go into an non-NBA thread and troll/victim complex to become the centre (LOL CANADA) of attention.
I added LOL CANADA because of the way I spelled centre.
The following posts re: LOL CANADA are unrelated to my original point.

It was nice that your reaction to my simple post proved my point. So, thanks for that.

i read that thread bc i thought it would be interesting, is that acceptable? let me explain, heres my logic triumph: if a topic is worthy of being separated from a megathread and its not something mundane like a game or series matchup or a trade, then i will chance that it may be interesting.

from this thread title, it appeared that a controversial play took place. being hockey, i figured that a gruesome hit took place and i was compelled to watch it and gain some perspective.

then i saw the usage of a meme that fits the exact description of what was being discussed in this thread. specifically, a meme being displayed in a non tz thread. the haters have alleged that such memes were born out of tz. but afaict, kirbynator has never set foot in our fair thread and was acting completely independent.

perhaps its going to far to credit this as validation of my viewpoint itt, but it is a datapoint nonetheless.

as an aside, hockey fans are passionate and homerific.

that's all fair re: the thread - i will tend to do that w/ other sports also.

still, if you ever left TZ or 2p2 SE, you'd know that memes like 'u mad' and 'haters gonna hate' are all over the internet. and in fact, most '2p2' memes were spawned somewhere else. however, this doesn't mean that it wasn't mostly TZ sorts who propagated those memes here in SE. i don't really care, since the meme onslaught appears to have ended.

but again, my point stands - you think that you and your favorite thread are the center of the internet. they are not. so, your defense is massively ironic.

Victor,
I thought your point was relatively salient, but it didn't belong itt and was trollbait that could have hijacked the thread. That was the point I made 40 posts ago.

For the record, I'm pretty shocked that so many people are unaware that the Denver thing was a total troll. Entering that year both Denver and Cleveland were expected to be bottom 5 teams. They played each other in week 1, Cleveland dominated, but Denver had an incredibly fluky 70+ yard TD pass with like 10 seconds less to win. I then put them #1 in my power rankings in week 1. It was then an awesome ride when they started out 6-0 and everyone was shocked, but how did anyone ever take that seriously?

I'm biased with the Skins/Ravens about to the same degree that many NBA regs are biased with regards to their NBA teams. Otherwise I think I provide decent football analysis. I ask a lot of questions mostly(except when homering it up for Ravens/Redskins).

Haven't been keeping up with TZ lately...whats this entire debate about anyway? I only found Clark's post because nutshot2 bumped this thread.

that was against the bengals actually, who, ironically (i think that works here, mebbe triumph or pudge can confirm) went to the playoffs.

Yes, there are trolls who just like to get things started with Kobe is better than LeBron, etc. But not everyone who has the casual fan opinion is a troll. But they're treated like one.

I'm sure that doesn't make sense to anyone else but me. Oh well.
However, this is not happening at all. Two quick examples of us providing quite a bit of content:

I feel as I get taken seriously by all the people who I would care whether or not they take me seriously. I'm fine with this.

I also realize that I can take debates way too far and that I can be incredibly opinionated at times. This can often make me look bad when my opinions turn out to be wrong, but I think people are making a mistake if they dismiss me due to this. I think being wrong about stuff you were previously adament about is just a part of the journey of learning, and that you shouldn't judge people based upon the percentage of times they were correct or incorrect(most of which is selectively remembered from a few main debates you had with the person anyway); Rather you should judge a person based upon the manner in which they conduct their "journey of learning." And when I look back at mine and how I've increased my knowledge of certain subjects over the years, I'm generally satisfied.

edited to add: I really agree with this part of kbfc's post:

I'm aware that I care about debating fine points moreso than most posters. I'm also aware that this makes me a prime target for mocking(Asseni was hilarious imo). And I'm fine with this.

this. My trolls are usually very large ones that spawn long threads, but they don't occur all that often at all.
