TSC,

I don't speak for us all, but don't worry about the length of the next one.

Naw, I don't care if those threads are there. The point was that there's clearly not some huge problem with the front page that we can't have a few extra threads that will fall off in one day. The whole thing will die out soon (like the sheep phase) anyways.

nah, i don't want to. not to be a dick about it (but i guess i am doing so), but i really just care to explain myself here. it would take me a lot of words and stuff, and in the end, it's just not worth it to me. sorry if this causes you any distress.

yeah i did forget that actually, but *shrug*, whatever. it probably wouldn't have made a difference. if it were up to me the drama queen would probably be perma'd already. maybe he's lucky that i don't care enough to make it my mission and get it done.

That said, knock your own ******** off, please. He's perfectly capable of making an ass of himself without your "help."
this, TSC. you and RJ both need to stop sucking.

gee thanks!

can't we just leave the E-lawyering to Oski, and the rest of us try to enjoy ourselves around here? i'm with LL, this place is starting to be a whole lot of no fun. and your feud with RJ is particularly boring. if you must, just keep it to PM's or something, bc nobody else cares.

I agree, and it's gotten out of hand and what to do has been discussed, but whether it's lack of focus, hoping it will fix itself or just laziness, the memetarding has been allowed to continue basically unchecked.

When objectively good posters start to complain or leave because it's not worth wading through all the garbage to find content, then it's gone too far. Pretty sure this has already happened with a few posters.

Maybe there is the hope that these once decent posters who have become lame parodies of themselves will stop sucking. But I've given up hope and it seems in some cases the forum would certainly be improved in their (forced) absence. So there will be carnage soon.

I'll probably start a thread on this because it's gotten annoying as hell.

It makes me sad that posters who I like are retaliating against the terrible meme usage with more of it. It's not funny or interesting. It's just as stupid an annoying as the original wave of terrible posting.

I agree that the memetarding is generally lame. The problem is: moderation past what is necessary to remove spam and structure the forum is generally even lamer.

and current modding and whining only encourages it.

Fair enough. Obviously I understand that the forum is pretty big with a decent volume of posts and active users so quality control / declaring any one thing out of bounds would be quite difficult. While I doubt my opinion carries much if any weight, I would confidently say that the forum as a whole is at the lowest ebb I can remember in the three odd years I've been following it. There still is great stuff to be found of course, but - more and more - you need to hunt in the depths of large regular season threads to find it. Though I am probably more irked by historically decent posters spending an ever greater percentage of their time posting pure crap tbh.

Anyway, you mods seem to be aware of this so I'll avoid further pointless rants on the subject.

hey i added a 'respectively', i thought that was funny

modding for memetarding should be totally arbitrary imo. it should really be totally at whim. memes can destroy forums - this trend needs to be rubbed out.

Odd because this is how I've modded since day one. I probably have the least amount of bans out of any mod ever on 2p2. I don't believe in it and yet I'm getting very close to changing that.

Football threads were horrendous for a long time because of it. I can only expect it to worsen once the draft comes around and/or the lockout picks up.

This forum is generally unreadable in 2011.
