I played in a charity tournament on Thursday (all day, followed by a lot of drinking ). First 3 holes I kept slicing my driver and decided to try one of my friends drivers and holy chit!!! It's kindve old (Taylormade R7 Superquad), but it felt like it was built for me. I couldn't slice it if I tried. 270-300, dead straight, everytime. He had it fitted for himself but he's starting to lose his driver now anyway and is looking for an excuse to grab the R1. He's trying to get me to buy it off him for $350 lol. He started at $1200 and tried to convince me the value was in the fitting an not in the stock club (which I can grab for ~$80 on eBay now).
This is a very heavy club, and I actually pulled a muscle using it around the 15th hole (upper shoulder/neck area), but it's so money I think I have no choice but to get it (one way or another).
I think the heavier club is more forgiving wrt the club path/swing, making less room for error/shifting
