that austin tx country not nashville stuff, im no expert but, ok they say it best here http://ninebullets.net/

Never offended by the outlaws, ninebullets radio walks the well worn dusty streets of the Americana musical scene by day stopping at every drinking song and murder ballad along the way. By night ninebullets radio isn't afraid to get it's feet muddy traipsing through the Mississippi delta looking for the jukejoints featuring tattooed kids putting their own punk skin on a genre made famous by greats like T-Model Ford, Pinetop Perkins & R.L. Burnside

its not stupid conservative 9-11 amurica and jesus, its about poor beat tough guys and good music

metal fans should just enjoy metal, not talk up its technical aspects. no one cares if your song is in 9/8 time or whatever.

two of my friends (early/mid 30s) coach the same hs baseball team. they're in the championship game tomorrow night.

assistant coach didnt answer texts/calls yesterday and didn't show up for practice. was last texting wednesday night. didnt show up for practice today again and hasn't answered any texts or calls. imessages are still being delivered so his phone is still on. i went by his house and his car's not in the driveway - could be in the garage i guess, rang the bell and his dog came near the door but no lights are on or anything else.

call the cops, obvious move or what? hasn't missed a practice all year and is usually very much 'in touch' via text

not really sure about drug or alcohol use, etc.

dont know any relatives and only other mutual acquaintances arent much more than just that

I would try to get in touch with any close family, parents, etc. I would let them know everything you know and let them make the decision.

If he doesn't have any family that you can contact, then I would contact the police.

man, thats tough. If it was a medical emergency he is already dead and help should have been called for a long time ago. If its not and you don't know family/relationship status it would be a pretty bad look to get police involved if its something to do with a gf or something and not dangerous. If he isn't in a relationship of any type then I see little downside to getting cops involved.

Seems like ask acquaintances if he has a girlfriend or something, contact her if she exists (or boyfriend or whatever), also contact cops in case health problem in the house, etc.

Don't think it's a bad look to contact police, that's a long time to go AWOL. Maybe contact his work and see if he's been absent there as well?

Best case scenario is like a bender or unplanned trip or something. . .

as far as i know he has a bread route that he owns/drives pretty much on his own in the mornings. ya i mean i dont really see how this could possibly end well. told my friend (head coach) to check and see if he had to fill out an emergency contact form at the school, that would make things easier.

agree. problems only come up if he has gone AWOL due to something relationship oriented or if he turned himself into rehab or something and is trying to keep it off the radar from his employer.

Is that really considered pop punk? Great song. I thought it was 90s alternative.

You're in the sports forum where many a stat geek discuss advanced stats, and the casualfan would say, "Who cares about Lebron's winshares? Just watch the damn game." I guess you consider music differently?

the way you are talking about "technical" aspects of music instead of caring about the end goal of entertainment is the sports equivalent of losing the right way.

Awful analogy.

A better but still imperfect analogy would be a sabermatrician seeking out casual sports discussions and trolling them over how stupid and simple they were.

That's what it's like when fans of obscure and largely unappealing music bust in on people talking top 40 and trying to tell them what's what.

For some reason metal fans are the most apt to do this. I don't know why.
