I saw like 5 minutes of an episode when U-Verse gave us free HBO for a week. I saw the lead girl's tits and thought "hey this looks pretty good."

I'm just like not at all into shows or movies like that. Fell asleep during LOTR. But it was cool that she was showing me her tits.

GoT is deliberately positioned in its opening episodes to be anti LotR (imo) - it's light-ish on prophecy and myth and heavy on real-world type intrigue.

It's weird though how it opens with the white walkers and then pretty much only pays cursory attention to them

Yup I was excited to see how people would react too. It's like us book readers make up 10% of the GoT population. And we all struggled with that part of the book. Funny to see others feel the same way we did.
