yeah, video lectures + video solutions to practice problems will soon allow some bright students to breeze through year long courses in a couple months. I dont think schools will switch to allowing students to take video lectures and exams at their own pace for at least a decade tho.
Feel like video isn't even necessary for a lot of the math/science/comp courses from (say) grades 3-10. Went to a super small middle school where me and another kid basically just worked on our own in math and science. Weren't really supervised, didn't use our time all that efficiently, still cruised through just an absolute ton of material just through avoiding the time wasted by inefficient, passive listening rather than efficient reading supplemented by the occasional question. So much lecturing is just time completely wasted.
I think in many cases, for brighter students, teachers not only fail to optimally aid learning but actually/actively obstruct it.
