Yeah, It's kind of silly of them to not just build in the shipping costs to their base price. $12 for drinks and $15 for shipping is an unnecesary turnoff when you could just say $2.25 per bottle with FREE SHIPPING. But then I guess their forte is brewing root beer and other soda pops, not marketing.

Maybe they sell it for $12 on site so they have it that way so local people will know to come in to save?

More people than I'd have thought seem to really enjoy golf.

Golf never got a hold of me. Just seemed so damn boring. A downright shocking number of people watch golf on TV which bottles the mind.

there is nothing better (ok, sex is) than watching the golf majors. the Masters is the GOAT because there are basically no commercials.

the other tourneys are meh and kind of suck. but the golf majors are the cats pajamas for sports on TV. just ****ing awesome.

The vast majority of golf on tv is awful, but a compelling major is great to watch

Once it gets ahold of you, you WILL be addicted.

I never cared for golf especially* and literally never watched it on TV until 2011. Got my house and our cable package came with Golf Channel and for some reason I just thought I wanted to start watching golf. I guess because I felt like I didn't know **** about it. Yeah, I started playing TW golf on XBOX and started finally understanding the game and watching every tourney then going out and hitting the range and logging some rounds. Now, almost every night when I go to sleep I think back and forth between sexual thoughts and golf thoughts. I literally lie in bed thinking about ****ing some girl, then think about playing the first couple holes at my local course. Like, literally envision my shots. Then I fall asleep.

It can bite you out of nowhere, at any moment, and you'll be hooked. In fact, just based on you making that post makes me think you've already been bitten by the GOLF BUG. GG Richard. We hardly knew ye.

*Other than playing a few handfuls of rounds throughout my life for fun.

Masters coverage kinda sucks. The course is beautiful and the lack of commercials is awesome but this year it was basically rife with Butler Cabin interviews, an overexposure of an amateur, and basically showing very little shots until Sunday on the back 9.

The other majors are better on TV imo. Especially the Open. Nothing like watching grown men try to play golf in 40mph wind and rain to determine the best golfer.

This part I totally get. I have to deal with "Hey, the guys are going golfing" all the time in the work world, and I know it's too my determent long term to not at least pretend to enjoy it.

Thankfully, I'm still young enough to be able to do the other things you mentioned.

Ok...how?

Keep in mind, I've watched more than a few NASCAR races in my time, and I just got back from the Indy 500, which I watch each year, so I understand the allure of a "sport' where incremental changes over a long time/distance can be exciting if you understand it.

But even with races there's the chance of wrecks and otherwise "flashy" stuff. Watching golf seems to literally be akin to watching grass grow.

It's one of my main reasons. I eat at least 2 healthy meals a day, but usually the 3rd meal or my snack/dessert isn't.

Also, golfing is a great excuse to go outside for several hours on a nice day and go for a scenic walk.

meh, it's hard to explain. and i'm not gonna be the guy that says "well you just don't get it."

it usually comes down to who is still in contention. and lately at the majors the players still in contention has been a who's who list of awesome PGA golfers.

again, it's hard to explain and hopefully someone else can explain it better than me.

The local driving range had $1 beers on Friday nights. Hard to beat it for a bunch of ragtag college kids.

I don't know, but I doubt it. Sprecher is sold all over the place in the Milwaukee area. You can buy it at Target, ffs.

I really should take a tour of the brewery (or root brewery - I'm the odd Wisconsin native who doesn't like beer) next time I'm home. It's right by my high school and I've never been there.

I think it has to do with anticipation. You have a lot of buildup to a few shots. When a major comes down to the last few holes, you know they've been playing 4 days for and it comes down to a few swings. Also, there's some luck involved with bounces, rolls, wind shifts, etc. so that adds to the excitement
