There are definitely a lot of rednecks/good ol' boys in the outskirts of STL but I don't think I've ever heard Missouri called the South. Especially not by someone from Ohio. Maybe Minnesotans consider it the South though.

EDIT: The southern part of the state (Ozark mountains) is definitely just an extension of Arkansas hillbilly. Not really The South. Just... decidedly hillbilly.

Calling a region "the south" is as much cultural as it is geographical. I'd call KY and TN "the south".

her position in all this is the most interesting one imo. she has to know about your/fiancee's animosity, no? I haven't crunched the numbers, but her seeking out her fiancee's rival to bang before the wedding can't bode well for their union.

Hey Karak, I could direct you to places in Atlanta that are extremely liberal to the point that it would be actively dangerous to support republicans in these locations. Do you have a bunch of those spots in northern Virginia? Liberal has nothing to do with being southern or northern. Manhattan is far more conservative than Atlanta. Hell, the several hundred people I know from the northeast are far more conservative than the couple hundred I know from Georgia based on my extremely unscientific Facebook observations over 8 years.
