If I had to, I would prob put WV in the South, but I think you can make a case that there is a separate region of Appalachia which includes Eastern KY and TN, WV, Western parts of Virginia, and Central PA.
central PA is PA dutch which is a little different

Yankees trying to say that all of Virginia is not part of the South would be like me trying to tell a bunch of New Yorkers that Queens isn't a burough anymore.

As long as CO isn't lumped in with midwest I'm happy with any other distinction.

Yeah, pretty stupid to have an argument when there is a strict definition of the Midwest. This is it right here.

actually have never met anyone from NJ who I would classify as such. Know quite a few people who grew up there too.

Oklahoma is either part of the midwest, or it's in its own 2-state region with Texas. I can't buy that somehow Nebraska and Kansas are midwest, but Oklahoma isn't.

Nebraska really isn't Midwest to me, so edit that. Great plains/heartland for mizzou, neb, Kansas, dakotas, Oklahoma. The term was coined in the early 1800s when Kansas and such WAS the west

They are lumped together. One is US census defined and the other isn't. The GP also covers states that aren't the Midwest.

Missouri isn't very flat. Many areas of large forests and hills. It is definitely not planar. Illinois might be flatter.
