I'm watching this Andrew Dice Clay: Indestructible "special" on Showtime.

Not because it's funny but because it's funny how sad it is.

I could see Dice becoming the go-to hipster comedian. Those people would love watching him because it doesn't make any sense to watch him. It makes the opposite of sense.

I have no idea why I have insomnia right now. I'm actually still feeling serenely happy ever since Friday. In fact, I'm starting to think we may have overshot the mark on the new anti-anxiety med dosage, but...not gonna call this one in. Yet somehow I cannot get to sleep despite not being worried about anything. Whelp, probably time to start reading some biology.

ARC; in HD, the Diceman makes sense.

If you look closely, Titus Young was involved.

nothing is unclear rly. your surprise and the extent of your surprise are pretty lol though; hard to articulate.

like what exhaustive master-list of protein shakes have you consulted that you're finding these calorie bombs? take a myoplex for example: 300 calories, 42g protein

does that qualify as a holy-****-that's-a-lot-of-calories protein shake?

you might also be looking at the "mass building" shakes which are often like 900+ calorie deals

kinda like this: http://www.allstarhealth.com/f/muscl...nce_series.htm

ON 100% whey is only about 170 cals per serving iirc

many brotein powders have way less usable brotein than you think, labels are pretty fraudulent. chicken>>>>whey in taste, cost and brotein/cal ratio. also people don't think you're a weirdo for eating astronaut food all the time

300 seems fine. The few I looked at last night had upwards or 720-800 cals in them. To me, that's quite a few.

Richard, are you aware that like the Outback Steakhouse bloomin' onion has 2,900 calories? Or that their bacon cheddar fries have like 3,600?

By the way if anyone forgot what Diceman's jokes were like, here is an excerpt:

"Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet...OHHHHHHH, dat whoooore."
"Jack and Jill went up the hill. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, Jill is a whore."
"The itsy bitsy spider crawled up the water spout. OHHHHHHH - my wife - what a whore."
"Red rover red rover, OHHHHH some chick was blowin' me."
"London bridge was falling down. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH."

How was this guy ever famous?

Dice was on an episode of WTF a few months ago. I thought he was pretty funny. He told this story about buying a paper shredder and feeding it whatever he could. Just his delivery alone had me dying.

"There once was a man who force-fed a paper shredder. OHHHHHHH. Then he went out and bought himself a night with a two dollar hooker. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. They keep getting better. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH."

These really aren't Dice's jokes - nor will I really defend Dice Clay as a great comedian or anything - but I mean, you can't be all 'lol people are dumb' and wonder how Dice Clay got famous. He had an edgy persona, his jokes were easy to remember, and it was during the comedy boom of the 80s.

I used to enjoy his calls in to the Opie and Anthony show many years ago - he's an absolute loon. I did watch about 30 seconds of the special ARC is talking about and was like 'wow, this is real bad'.

Because the 1980s and 1990s were times of unbridled prosperity for people in New York and New Jersey, and seeing as how Ed Hardy had yet to be invented, their disposable income had to go somewhere.
