it's not that he does those things, it's that whatever weirdo stance he takes (like being a huge sports fan that watches tv on a 26" tube) he does so extremely aggressively and blanketly proclaims it's the best way and anyone who doesn't agree is an idiot. which is pretty lol. and it has a tendency to make bad threads unreadable, and good threads bad.

honestly I have a lot of cheap, crappy things (recently I got my first HD TV actually) but I couldn't even imagine trying to tell people that they're idiots if they buy nice things.

I didn't "aggressively claim that people who buy HDTVs are idiots". Read the thread. Some guy randomly kept calling me broke, which is simply not true. He also then went on to troll me further by saying that I probably am "one of those people" who spends more on TVs than on my car.

So I started talking about my old ****ty TVs. To prove how wrong he was. That's basically it. And somehow, Dids kept letting him post.

This is what you do - you take one thing, like me forgetting Tim Tebow actually didn't make it to the superbowl (I don't follow sports closely, obviously) and using that in a completely irrelevant way as if it justifies whatever terrible stance you're trying to take. It's a hallmark of someone who is really bad at argument. I'm aware I was wrong. I'm not trying to say he was in the superbowl. So you're right, I guess?

Seriously, the reel mower hate is way overdone.

Don't have to mess with oil or gas. Easy to grab out of your garage with 1 hand. Very light. If you've got a small yard (many people do), I think it makes way more sense than using a power mower.

Almost everyone in my neighborhood has a power mower (duh) and yet my front yard looks way better than theirs. Probably because they don't feel like lugging a power mower around for a small yard.

I remember one time there was an ATF thread bitching about dids. I posted a smiley someone made on another messageboard that we both post at clowning him.

dids PM'd me (I assume bc he can't delete posts in ATF) and told me it wasn't appropriate for me to post jokes from that site here bc here he is a mod here (those were the exact words, 'because I'm a mod here') the way I took it was 'it will embarrass me here'.

I don't remember if it was a 'do me a solid' type pm or a 'or else' type pm. wish I had saved it.

I do remember deleting it bc he seemed like he really didn't want his rep from there to end up here, and I've had a loose messageboard relationship with him going back probably 10 or 12 years and 3 messageboards where we were both regs.
