I didn't lurk anything at all, but felt a void and came back to 2p2 about 5 times a day to see if it was working.

Who in SE is most likely addicted to the forums? I imagine some other boards, like BB4L and some others have more posters with serious addictions, but SE has to have some too.

I guess I would define addiction by it getting in the way of their careers, relationships, sleep, etc. Removing the forum would cause severe physical or emotional turmoil in some way.

Does SE have any serious forum addicts?
I'm probably a little addicted to 2+2.

I don't think I'm addicted at all actually. I think I'm probably in the boat of many people who highly value 2p2 and find it to be a time consuming but worthwhile hobby. I've never once had one of those moments where I thought "oh god, i have to stop, it's ruining my life. im gonna request a ban" Having a negative relationship with an online message board you voluntarily post on seems odd. I think I could understand self-ban only if like you're a lazy college student who can't finish a paper because you're too easily distracted or something

During the blackout I kind of forgot about 2p2, and definitely stopped checking it after like a day or so. It was a bummer though and when someone in Skype said it was back I was happy to hear it.

Yeah 2p2 is fun, but I wouldn't be on it nearly as much if I didn't need a computer to work most days. I would definitely still probably post a little bit most days and do gameday threads when I'm just watching at home though.

pretty awful how apt buildings will advertise "FREE DIRECTV!" but in the lease specify that they have no obligation to provide you with directv. So if it doesn't work, youre SOL.

I have never understood the selfban thing. Why don't people just not log on if they don't want to post?

chance that self banned posters read the forum anyway = 90%+

What were some of the wackiest things on the program?

I have an addictive personality, but 2+2? No. Coke, alcohol, nicoteine, pot, sex, rock climbing, gambling, sugar, caffeine, painkillers, adrenaline, healthfood, driving fast, driving slow, dark chocolate, video games, and probably some things I've purposely avoided like porn and violent video games, sure. Just not 2+2.

Edit: forgot television

probably, but they can't post. speaking for myself, it's real hard to be addicted when you're just lurking.

i've had a real lack of interest in the television for like 5ish years running. but that's probably due to just not having cable.

i haven't really noticed the void though. i would guess i game, cook, and watch movies more from tpb.

edit: shows watched after they debut on air count as television. so i'll redact that.

If I could chop my cable bill by 70% and only get live sporting events covered I would snap accept. Computer + Internet works fine for everything else.

I self ban every now and then. Sometimes just get busy and can't be involuntarily clicking or refreshing the forum that day. And no I don't check the forum when banned or pace around the room/beat off to an archived EmpireMan post. Maybe I should though.

As far as TV shows go- only really watch Mad Men/Game of Thrones. Movies-mostly marathon them around Christmas time.
