This came up with the other people in my office last week. It is split about 50/50 but one girl I work with said the "people who invented '.gif' say it jif" so that was mostly the end of that.

Probably common job situation:

Offer from Job A

Contact B, who I would rather work for, ask if there is interest (have been trading emails with a senior executive and HR for weeks, but no interview yet..."evaluating our needs" type stuff. HR from B says can I have a day to see if any of our senior managers are interested in you.

Ask Job A when they need an answer, they are annoyed and say 2 days.

So obviously B isn't going to hire me in 2 days. Play?

This really is the perfect situation for Manny. A crowd of people who love him, he doesn't speak the same language as anyone, so he gets left alone, he has to give basically no effort and can allow his naturally elite swing to crush HRs.
