I've been informed that I already tried the eye snatching move last time, which is when I was supposed to have learned that I do not actually know how to snatch someone's eye out. Obviously this rules one restaurant out.

Seems wife would rather eat in tomorrow anyway.

In downtown Detroit for first time. Everyone isn't lying about the sketchiness of this place.

Hey Holliday, I hope you two have a great day tomorrow. Hopefully there is something you guys like that you can have delivered, or you're a good cook.

My story from yesterday was boring other than I was under a hot load and had made personal sacrifices to get it there ASAP only to arrive at a customer that was closing for the weekend and refusing to unload me and did not seem to be aware of anyone from my company having explained that I would be late for the appointment. So I still tried to do the right thing and be a team player at that point, which wound up getting me stranded at a company drop yard in the dirt poorest area of El Paso, with no way out except driving, which I could not legally do due to my hours of service. And of course the drop yard had no running water or amenities of any kind, so I was stranded dirty and hungry and sick and tired of eating my emergency granola bar supply.

But my Monday-Friday boss in Portland came in today to fix ****, to switch me to another load that is basically the definition of a dream load, huge easy miles with super light trailer with a gigantic, days long appointment window at the destination, so I just showered and ate a sit down meal and am looking forward to three days of nonstress cruising and stopping when and where I please. Also the whole thing seems less of a big deal now and I'm a little embarrassed.

Petition for PocketChads to never use the phrase "hot load" again.

That reminds me of a question I had about the back of some trailers I see on the highway. Most of them are closed in the back, but I'll occasionally see a truck with a wedge type thing in the back. Not really sure how else to describe it. I have no idea what it is for. Do you?

Aerodynamics, fuel efficiency. Same deal as the fiberglass skirts under the sides of some trailers.

Don't know about the back wings but from experience the side ones really make a big difference.

Yeah, trucking is filled with lingo that sounds euphemistic or downright explicit

PChads; re: my cooking; Have you ever heard of "the Anal Retentive Gourmet"? Lately been making everything in the Vitamix...because that way it's very evenly distributed!

But thanks, I'll come up with something. BTW, wife is doing much better. In fact, been off the last post-surgery med for nearly 2 weeks and it's making a huuuuuuge difference, personality-wise. It's an anti-seizure med given to nearly everyone after brain surgery, and has a one-month dangerzone for seizurous activity, so halfway home through that!

Oh, and sorry to hear about the hot load.

Think of the children.

Two DWIs & two PIs, multiple shopliftings, assaulting an officer etc. and she apparently hasn't hit rock bottom yet. This is impressive.

Good news is apparently most of the crimes occurred when she was either high or drunk. Theres still hope for her yet through rehab!
