That reminds me of a question I had about the back of some trailers I see on the highway. Most of them are closed in the back, but I'll occasionally see a truck with a wedge type thing in the back. Not really sure how else to describe it. I have no idea what it is for. Do you?
Aerodynamics, fuel efficiency. Same deal as the fiberglass skirts under the sides of some trailers.
Don't know about the back wings but from experience the side ones really make a big difference.
