To just assume this guy was knowingly putting his kids at risk for ****ing youtube hits is obnoxiously snobbish. They're from Texas/south/not where you're from, they're obviously too stupid to parent.
The guy made a mistake. Parents are allowed to make them. I'm sure the second the blast occurred his only concern was his children.
There are some parents who didn't evacuate the jersey coast, nyc, etc during sandy . Didn't evacuate new Orleans during Katrina.
Their are parents, right now, driving around with their kids while texting, doing makeup, whatever. Any uproar over that?
This is a super rare insane event. A little leniency and perspective is in order.
why does a poor assumption make it ok to put kids at risk? lots of parents assume things are healthy or good for their kid when they aren't and these things are not ok either.
not evacuating during a catastrophe is certainly neglect at best when you have kids. I was in several as a child and we evacuated for all the ones that did any damage at all.
All the parents who drive while texting (or anyone for that matter) are being neglectful to everyone on the roads, including their kids.
