Had similar reaction when I gave up caffeine, tobacco, and sugar at the same time. Really couldn't have that, so eventually found a kook remedy that seemed to help; 3 amino acid supplements--Taurine, Tyrosene, & Glutamine 5 x per day. It was from one of those holistic addiction clinics where they said they found this mix the most consistent helper; Taurine is supposed to calm your agitation, Tyrosine to pep you up, Glutamine to balance blood sugar levels. (Like I said, yhe source is a kook and has no scientific evidence that I could find...personally found it legit effective right away (if benefitting from the placebo effect is wrong, I don't want to be right!)). Typically the caffeine withdrawal symptoms only last 2-4 days though, well some tiredness for 30 days. Pretty sure, if you're not agitated, you get similar doses of Tyrene & glutamine from most protein powders.
Excedrin contains caffeine, btw. Not sure if that's not a joke or a trap, but it will certainly get rid of a no-caffeine headache!
