Milk with lunch/dinner sounds disgusting to me, I think you're a euro tho.

+1 although I thought it was an American thing.

First time I ever saw such a thing:

you gotta get that gallon down somehow

I like milk with dinner in a vacuum, been mostly replaced by beer when it's not water though. Very hard to compete with beer as far as dinner-accompanying beverages go.

Been listening to a lot of Yuck Pandora recently. Would recommend.

I've come to find that JB is a very polarizing movie so try to avoid discussing it. Turns out a lot of people really like it. I am not one of those people.

Agree, to me the original Gatorade now tastes too "thick", particularly during or after a workout.

Went on a Grand Canyon hike last week and took along one of those little Mio water enhancer bottles. It was great, basically turned water into G2. Do recommend.

Tuq, have you hiked down to the floor and overnight camped or stayed at that ranch? We are thinking of taking the kids for that type of either down and back or rim-to-rim hike sometime in the fall.

Wait, Clark is a father?

I always thought he was one of those dudes who was in his 40s with no kids and had heaps and heaps of disposable income and free time as a result.

I'm jealous. I really, really wish I could learn to enjoy coffee. Don't really like hot drinks though but could just put it on ice. Has to be a fraction as bad for the body as diet soda. Just can't get used to the taste. Same thing with iced tea, it's something that would be great to acquire a taste for since it seems like about as harmless way of getting necessary caffeine as there is.

How many of you would drink coffee just for the taste?

My wife has two kids from a long-ago prior marriage. They spend about 20% of the year with us in Vegas and another 15% with my wife (and sometimes me) in their hometown/other locations.

A great coffee does taste great (ldo). Although my consumption would go down significantly (maybe to zero) if I quit smoking for sure.

Not really sure how people can drink Latte's or whatever stuff they get conned with at Starbucks etc. Coffee should be black.

Nah - here's the thing about camping: I'm over it, like if I never ever do it again that would be fine.

Anyway, it was a day hike. For those familiar - down South Kaibab, over to Phantom Ranch because someone wanted to see it although it's slightly out of the way, then up Bright Angel. Had done this same hike about three times in the nineties but not since. My god the weather was perfect.

Would like to at some point do the North Kaibab trail as everyone raves about the scenery being out of this world. But it's so much longer than the south rim trails that it changes the trip considerably.

Kids would probably enjoy the hell out of it though - Phantom Ranch seems like a cool spot to stay and that's something I'd consider if we wanted to take our time knocking out a rim-to-rim-to-rim.

I don't like coffee that much, but do like Americano's (hot water plus espresso). It's odd. Tend to only want it when I am travelling or having a Euro breakfast tho.

Rest of beverage intake has evolved a lot. College had like 2 liters of coke a day. Now my liquid intake is like 75% water, with the rest spread between OJ, G2, wine, beer and the once-a-week coke or diet coke.

But, in terms of the damage of the actual chemicals, I'm shamefully ignorant.

General points wrt natural fruit sugars and ease of dilution are fair. BUT STILL.
