Do the smart nutritional minds of SE have any consensus on diet beverages? I generally try to avoid, but that's based more on vague perception of "bad" ness than anything concrete. I do remember reading some study where people took in more calories in other places when they drank diet beverages, which kinda accords with my experience (only one I ever regularly drank was Fresca, but I did notice myself always wanting a snack to go with it.) But, in terms of the damage of the actual chemicals, I'm shamefully ignorant.
General points wrt natural fruit sugars and ease of dilution are fair. BUT STILL.
