No. 9: Huntsville, Ala. This southern city has long had a "smart" core to its economy, a legacy of its critical role in the NASA ballistic missile program. Today the area's traditional emphasis on aerospace has been joined by bold moves into such fields as biotechnology. Kiplinger recently ranked the area's economy No. 1 in the nation.
I didn't know you were from Huntsville. Lots of geeks live there now.

Brag or beat? Caffeine has never done anything for me. I'll have a monster or nos or rockstar or even a coffee once every like 6 months and nothing. A bottle of water though wakes me up.

Yeah, 3/4 of my high school friends were Asian. Math team represent. We didn't just win a national tournament, we also ran our own. In addition to the student-run regional one that we hosted annually. And the best beer bar in Huntsville has over a hundred taps and is always full of engineers.

@Noze: buy a teapot and let that **** draw. You want to be skating on it. And Barry's though I doubt they sell it in the Deep South.

What age were you when you left NY for Alabama? And what part, has it always been near Mobile?

Ouch.

I won my regional 7th grade and my 8th grade year ran into a kid who was just insane at quick mental math and finished 2nd.

My 8th grade year, I finished 19th in the State of Michigan. Missed 2 insanely easy questions in the Target Round, where if I got those right I would have placed 3rd before the countdown round and been guaranteed a trip to nationals

Always thought 5 hour energies were a scam since its approximately 2 oz of liquid for ~ 3-4 bucks. Guess ill try one. I've been a pretty religious coffee drinker for about a year and a half. I usually drink 3-4 cups in the morning and sometimes I'll bring a thermos with 3-4 cups since I'm usually out until ~ 6 pm on weekdays. I may have a caffeine addiction. Some days, when my schedule was more brutal, I had to walk a couple miles in negative degree whether at 7 am, so coffee was/still is fairly essential.

They are pretty much a scam. But they seem to work so I keep buying them. I figure 5 hour energy has to at least be better for me than say a rockstar.

33. North of Gulf Shores. Yes, I grew up here although it was much more of a barren wasteland then.

If you like them, you can get 12 packs on Amazon for just over $2 a bottle.

Definitely have a caffeine addiction, get the withdrawal headaches on days I don't have any.

I got my revenge next year finishing 9th at Nationals. Choked on the countdown round. But was a cool experience nonetheless. Would like to think the angry letters I wrote them are why 6th graders are allowed now.

Gotta wake up for work at 5:30 every day. As much as I would love to get 8+ hours per day, there is too much good sports and TV on for me to go to bed at 9PM every night. Even if I do go to bed early I still find coffee an integral part of my morning awakening process.
