Bell's doesn't exist down here. If you find it let me know. Embrace Abita. Not as good, but everywhere and certainly not bad.

Several years ago I had a bet with a friend, by Thanksgiving I was to lose twenty pounds and he was to lose ten (I was a bit heavier than him so it was fair) else we would owe the other $100 or something like that. Had about six weeks. I accomplished it almost singlehandedly by switching from Jack & Coke to Jack & Diet Coke.

Unfortunately that didn't turn out to be a long-term solution to weight loss. Later in order to keep my caloric intake down I switched to vokda/tonic, then vodka/soda. Eventually I learned that even the seemingly low calorie vodka/soda can make you fat if you drink enough of them. Pity.

Yeah bells distribution stops at Alabama. I do have some friends visiting Gulf Shores in early June so I'm making a point of driving out there to see them and enjoy an Oberon.

Matt Bellamy was perfect tonight. Literally perfect. He didn't miss a single note - guitar or voice.

To combine that level of musicianship with the visual spectacle...yeah, I thought it was incredible. And I'm usually a bigger fan of old school style shows, but this was just amazing.

Yeah it's pretty good for you. Plus, if your cats/dogs get into it, it gives them a shiny coat.

Pretty sure people who drink like jackasses don't discriminate by day of the week...

Fish oil is great IMO.

Yay. Best to spend a few quid extra on higher quality if you're planning to take it as a supplement though. Pure Pharma sells some very legit Omega 3.

I think this is one issue I'm having. I just have no good place at all to store smelly ass hockey equipment. Plus rec league hockey timing doesn't mesh very well with having to wake up for work at 5:30 every morning. I've played hockey damn near every winter since I was 3 years old and this was prob the first one where I didn't.

Depends.

What you really want from it is DHA. Your body sucks really bad at turning omega 3 acids into DHA, taking just omega 3's is basically a waste as you lose so much of it along the way to the final end goal. If your fish oil is high DHA contant that is ok, but if it is just some omega 3 precursor (like alpha linolenic acid) its not worth it.

The actual best thing you can do for yourself (next to eating fish or grass fed beef) is buy liquid DHA. There is a Barleans one that you take a tsp of oil per day, 46 servings for $16 that I recommend.

Sorry, didn't see this post before I responded to the other.

The only way a fish oil pill is worth the few extra bucks is if it has a higher DHA content. If the Pure Pharma has more DHA it is definitely worth it, I'm not familiar with their product.

edit: Just looked it up, it is pretty good.

The worst part about studying omega 3 acids is learning that Flax seed is basically entirely worthless. I had taken it for years, nearly every single day. Probably 70k calories of Flax in my life. It really doesn't impact blood DHA levels at all, and the omega 3 line in it is nearly almost entirely lost to inefficiencies in the body.
